(which is already a little too much) she dressed up in her meeting cloths, head to foot, in order to be presentable while she is writing those letters.

Be nice. She is doing what she thinks is right. Getting dressed up to do this probably gets her in the right frame of mind.
Family is important, just accept her for who she is.
My sister is still a witness and we are still close.

hi, i have been lurking at this site and a few other jw or xjw sites in search of some clarity but i am just getting more confused...
my 15 year old daughter has been dating a 17 year old jw for about 2 1/2 months.
he seems like a very nice kid--very shy (he is just starting to talk around me now...still not too much to my husband).
Just be careful. This boy may be just rebelling or he may genuinely was out of The JW religon.
My advice talk to him about it and talk to his parents, see exactly they stand. Most JW will be happy to talk openly about it. Ask them all your question, especially as to where they stand on dating and JW marrying a NON JW.
They may have some concerns of ther own.

i just had a call a couple of hours ago from my ex.
she said my youngest daugher was in a bad car accident.
i asked her what happened, and told me that she was just pulling out from the drive way, and made a left turn.
I'm so sorry Puternut. I'm so glad she's ok. Give her a big hug from me and I hope she's feeling better soon. I hope your feeling a lot better too.

the wts, along with many groups out there, actively encourages members to take on the role of "children" while setting themselves up as the "parent" or ultimate authority figure.
like a trusting little kid, members unquestionally accept everything that is told to them as total truth.
I suppose that's one of the challenges of being a parent. Protecting our kids from those sort of untruths.
As a parent if my son comes home from anywhere with any kind of story i encourage himm to draw his own conclusion from the facts he knows to be true. No matter where the story comes from, be it school or meetings.
