  Anyone taking any summer school?

  well, in the effort to catch up to where i should be in life, i'm taking some extra classes during the summer.

  i normaly love college but this has to be the worst summer of my life.

  i'm taking a statistics class that is from may 26 to july 2, meets at 8:00 a.m. to 9:40 a.m. and is m through th every day.

  Nope. I barely made it through the Spring semester with only one class. LOL And statistics? Wow, you must be a glutton for punishment.

  What did you do with your Bible Studies?

  I never had one study in all my years (30 years of association and baptized about half as many). The only study I had was my daughter and I took her with me out of the truth. LOL

  My Mother was diagnosed with Thyroid Cancer

  today my mother got results from a biopsy she had on tuesday.

  she was diagnosed with thyroid cancer and has to have surgery to remove the thyroid.

  the doctor said this type of cancer is almost always curable which is good news.

  I did not have cancer, but I did take the radioactive iodine which destroyed my thyroid. It is a one time deal for me (but they could do multiple treatments to get it all). You emit a little bit of radiation, but it quickly passes. It was painless too.

  I hope your mother pulls through and they get it all. Best to you.

  End of a truly horrible week

  here it is friday, and i am soo glad.

  i have been away from the computer for a while because my computer was in kansas with my sister and i am in alaska, working.

  i came up here to take what i hoped was a great summer job.

  Family Matters

  so i have been inactive technically for about 2.5 years now.

  before i became inactive i was literally struggling to get my 1 hour in per month and half the time i studied with my daughter to get that hour in.

  my daughter at 8 years of age began questioning the organization with things like "why won't they let women give talks to the audience, etc.".

  it was totally unexpected.

  i'm off work today to drive hubby to doctor, and had just opened the garage door to take the garbage can to the street.

  i saw this burgandy car approaching very slowly on the main road and wondered what they were up to...i could see that it was two older women and i then figured they might want directions.

  I am glad the twinges in the gut and the anxiety never hit. I always wonder how I would react in that type of situation. I probably would take them (cause I remember what it was like being on the other side) -- but not give them my name for the RV. Also -- probably use them as fire starter later or recycle them.

  mr. pookiehead and i just got back from visiting friends in mississippi.

  i had never been so it was a fun experience.

  i've finally tasted 'grits' (which i liked) and had fried catfish which was divine.. y'all have been prolific in your posting.

  Welcome back. I tried grits one or two times when I was in the south. Can't say I cared for them much -- but I like to try things at least one time.
