a source of irritation in many households centres around the toilet.
men leaving the toilet seat up and all that, but what about the toilet roll?.
for years mrs ozzie insists on putting the roll on the holder so the sheets come from under whereas i like it the opposite way with the sheets coming over the top.

my friend was summoned to a jc.
she did not go and pretty much told the elders to kiss her ass.
she wants to attend the announcement which is tonight.
When I was DF'd as a teenager I did not attend. What was the point? I always admired the people that did attend their own announcement. Hell, maybe they were even happy. Who knows.
If I were to get DF'd again, I probably would not attend. Why give them the satisfaction of trying to hurt me?

because of another thread i got curious about whether many people have a favourite word.
i've never really gotten over my first love, which was supercalifragilisticexpialidocious (seems like there ought to be a comma in there somewhere).
but that's not really a word.
I am with Blondie. I like the word "obfuscation"
I saw a license plate frame the other day that said "Eschew Obfuscation" and I found that entertaining.

You did the right thing. By taking the cat to the shelter it had the "opportunity" to be adopted again. My cat hissed at my step-daughter and spent most of the day in (self-imposed) isolation. It didn't like people and it only tolerated me. I felt so incredibly guilty for wanting to get rid of her because I made the decision to have a pet and the cat was my responsibility. My boyfriend finally took her to the shelter one day. It was a relief (even though some guilt was involved -- but I managed to get over that).
Your boss didn't have to put up with the cat. You made the right choice -- the one that worked for you (not your boss).

now i pose the question of 'can u make friends over the internet'?....
how is it possible to define the relationship of 2 or more people over the internet?
how do u really know who the other person is that you are supposedly making a friendship with?
I have made a few friends online and even flew to the mid-west to stay with them for a week. I met another girl through a mutual topic list (never seen her face to face) but we talk regularly by email and phone. I think it is possible as it is just like any other friendship. It takes work on both sides to keep the lines of communication open.
This saddens me when I say it, but I really only have one friend left from JW land. It is quite a shock to have hundreds of so called friends -- but when push comes to shove in this religion -- you really dont have anyone. I value the friendships I have made online -- as they are proving to be "true" friends.

the set up
it was getting close to noon and elese decided to give her mother a call to let her know she was ready to be picked up.
sara said she had to stop by the kingdom hall to drop off some ice for the brothers doing the remodeling.
Wow Corvin -- I am impressed. I would never have the nerve to be as level headed as you appeared. I respect you for taking the action you did.

logic tells us that the "preaching work" is alot to do about nothing.
knocking on doors when no one is home is a stupid waste of time!
the odds of finding a bible study that gets baptized after leaving a person a tract or magazine has got to be ridiculously low.
Knocking on doors when no one is home is a stupid waste of time!
I agree. I used to love it when no one was home -- I would linger at the door longer so that the others out in service would get ahead of me and take more doors. I dreaded when someone would actually answer the door. When someone did answer, I would immediately whip out the WT and hope that would turn them off. LOL How sad is that!

As others have said there is no "best way" to quit this religion. I have been through both scenarios -- DF'd when I was 19 (reinstated a year later) and oh that was tough. It is amazing how your life changes overnight.
This time (10 years later) I just faded. I stopped going to meetings (gradually) and going out in service. The elders called me a few times when they "heard" stuff about me, but I did not meet with them. I moved away and I still have some contact with some JWs (which I wouldnt have any if I was DFd).
I guess it all depends upon what you can handle. DFing is clearly a clean break. I just don't know how well you can prepare for the aftermath.
Whatever you decide, I wish you the best.

ok confucious.......... .
what mistakes have you made?
i painted a bathroom lime green..........ok its called bamboo green...........yuk, now i have to repaint.
We painted our bedroom mint green (hey it looked good and fresh in a magazine). I think we both hated it but we lived with it for 1.4 years. Just recently painted the walls taupe and it is SO MUCH better.
