I am growing pumpkins in my back yard -- I too put a pumpkin out (the one I didn't want to use for pies of course) -- I think it makes the house look "fallish". And you are right. . . it is just a vegetable -- nothing to fear there.

see "napa county judge may hear church molestation suits.
six counties to combine suits against jehovah's witnesses.".
of course, the attorney for the jws is opposed.
I saw that article yesterday. I know is that the judge who they are assigned to is a really good judge -- I hope the JW attorney is not successful. It will be interesting to see how things play out.

Whoops -- sorry for the second post -- I hit the submit button twice.
so, you wanna "leave the 'truth", huh?.
let's examine the two options:.
you dissassociate yourself - and what happens?
I chose option #2. I believe I have faded successfully. It helps to move away. But even before I faded I was lucky to get more than one hour of FS in a month. I guess I made their record look really bad. Yay!

eldubs in florida (maybe elsewhere too) have been told that the kingdom halls should not be used for relief efforts or for shelters.
liability and insurance issues were stated as the reason.. will try and get a copy of this letter.. of course the kingdom halls are supposed to be the center of true worship and a place of comfort but i guess only in fair weather.
what a crock.

Gotta love how the lawyers have more power than god.

well, according to the sept '96 awake, this pretending that you don't exist routine is a very loving arrangement!.
the bible?s viewpoint.
" (1 peter 1:15, 16) so disfellowshipping unrepentant sinners upholds god?s holy name; it shows love for that name.
Jehovah is not a coldhearted dictator. He is merciful and understanding. He remembers that we are imperfect.
What they failed to mention is that the WTBTS are cold hearted dictators and they do remember (daily) that we are imperfect.

so here's the deal and question...... .
about 9 years ago i had pain so bad it sent me to emergency to find out what was going on...needless to say they admitted me to find out what was going on because i had pain like this 3 times before but did not go to the hospital...i ended up going to the or to have my gall bladder removed and remained in the hospital for a total of 11 days....when all was said and done they said i was curred now and would never experince that kind of pain again... ( i was eating kfc when the pain started.
since then i have not touched the stuff) .
I know that pain you spoke of. I thought I was having a heart attack -- but the ER doc knew what it was immediately and asked me if I still had my gall bladder. I was mis-diagnosed before that. Doctor thought I had acid reflux disease and I was on Pepcid for a few years and sometimes it helped and other times it didn't help. I had a stone stuck in the duct -- they found that out when they removed my GB.
I have not experienced that same level of pain (as I did when my GB was in), but I do occassionally get chest pains that I believe are gas.
So. . . . could it be acid reflux? Or really bad gas?

well, looks like one of my best friends is getting df'ed.
unbelievable.. aah, to begin with, her parents split up when she was about 11 and her dad is more or less a deadbeat who wasn't really a part of her life even when she was suicidal....and her mom is rarely there for her, and sometimes gets drunk and physically abusive.
her mom remarried and she lives with her and her stepdad who are never at home.
is determined to try to learn from the experience and get back into the organization as soon as she can
I remember thinking this too when I was DF'd at 19. I can honestly say that being treated like I was dead really messed up my head. You think you can deal with it, but once the announcement has been made and you are all alone it is really tough -- especially for a young person. And especially if JW land was all she knew her whole life. It sounds like you really want to be there for her and are truly a good friend. That is something she is going to need more then ever now.
My heart goes out to her. . . .

me and hubby have been looking at some model homes and they were so beautiful...i am completely sold.
we have built over 150,000 in equity in the last 3 years, so it looks like my dream home might be a reality.
this is something i would never have thought of in my earlier jw days.
Some of the friends I confided in have already been putting me down behind my back. Like we dont need a house that size and a fireplace is just another thing to clean and blah blah.
What? You have to clean a fire place? LOL Give me a break.
I bought a new home a few years ago and we love it!!!! Very little maintenance -- nothing to repair. We got to landscape our backyard from scratch and I have really enjoyed the process. We are almost done with it -- just adding a waterfall/pond and then we will be done.
Hey -- congrats on having all that equity -- that is quite an accomplishment. I wish you all the best in building your new home -- don't let them get you down.
