Hi all, I have just gotten back onto my computer tonight after 8 days in the Bahama's, and am just reading a lot of the skuttlebut about Barb Anderson. I am so happy to hear all this. I know Barbara and met with her and Bill last winter in NYC to discuss the future pieces they wanted to do regarding exposing the Watchtower Society. Back then it seemed to good to be true. But the reality of all of this is coming along nicely. It is mind bogling the kowledge she has about the Dark Tower. I am just so happy it is coming out. Thier lawlessness is getting reaveled. Hi everyone, it sounds to me like the Watchtower Society has become the "Forgetful Hearers" and made itself into an image like the "golden calf" for the members to bow down and worship. Of course they would never apply their words to themselves. Has anyone heard about the latest article in the Kingdom Ministry about not listening to negative media coverage about the Watchtower?? I am just curious about what it says because I think it is a reaction to the bad publicity that the Watchtower is recieving.

I agree with you Julien, I think the Watchtower is already priming the congregations not to watch Dateline because I've heard that the latest Kingdom Ministry has already addressed the issue of negative publicity against them. It is their latest spin to control the members, and make it look as though they are "the only true religion following in Christ's footsteps". I do hope however that the investigation by Dateline will have more of an impact than what MadApostate is expecting.

Disfellowshiping and shunning

i'm not so much against the disfellowshipping but shunning because it doesn't help anybody to repent some possible gross sin.
the situation is still more worse if you disagree with one or more of the wts teachings.

The act of shunning in a DF/DA is an act that is dependent on a triangle between the ones involved. First there is the Perpetrator, the Watchtower Society. It perpetrates this rule of shunning through threats of punishment, and destruction. The Watchtower Organization, the Perpetrator, needs a Victim to carry out this act. The victim is the "shunnee" or the one to be punished and threatened with death and destruction. The Victim Shunnee plays that the Perpetrator wants the victim to play in order to wield the Power and control of a true Perpetrator. The Enablers are the Elders and the Congregation of members and even the Victim Shunnee who plays the role the Watchtower designates to them. In the instance of Pedophilia, the Pedophile cannot continue to molest if their Victims speak out and expose them and their disgusting form of power and control, but also expose the Enablers who support and protect the Pedophile. In other words without victims, and enablers Pedophiles are defeated. Likewise with the Perpetrating Watchtower Society. Without victims to be shunned by thier families and congregation, and without supporting elders who enable the Perpetrator, even though it is also vicimizing them and the congregation as well, their would be no such thing as shunning resulting from the act of getting excomunicated or disassociating oneself. Ohter religions practice excommunication, but they are not vicimized by it by the religious community viewing them as invisible or dead. The act of shunning is a definite form of perpetrating passive aggresion. It is definitely a form of power that is unscriptural, and based on total enforced participation.

I guess it is ok if someone makes you mad enough by hitting you between the eyes with the real truth. Slander is lies. Everything said so far with the exception of yourself, is true fact. Are you a Pedophile GR?? The one's I have met believe thier victims are apostate, and so do the elders who support them. No, GR, the truth is, it is the ones you stick up for that are the term in which you so eloquently describe.

GodRules, don't count on a Watchtower Representative speaking in behalf of the Organization to fool the producer of Dateline into believing that the Watchtower Society is such a wonderful and truthful religion. Dateline knows all too well what the Watchtower Society is trying to cover up. Pedophiles in the closet just keep coming out to embarrass the good ol boys at the top. They keep trying to hide them but now there are too many victims that the Watchtower has tried to bully into silence, that are wanting to be heard loud and clear. And guess what GR, there isn't a damned thing WT can do to keep them silent anymore. I hope you enjoy the show when it airs this Fall. Dateline will expose the REAL APOSTATES. The Governing Body. I wonder if the producer of Dateline thinks that little Erica at the trial that is going on this week is an "opposer", or an "apostate". Maybe the real opposers are the Witnesses taking the side of the Pedophile. Do you really think the "householders" want to be drawn to such a tarnished, disfunctional, religion that spiritually abuses the members through guilt, shame, blame, punishment, and antagonistic, legalistic rules and regulations and sanctions meated out to victims and anyone daring to speak the truth?? Freedom is so sweet!
by Ranchette insome of those that remember me wonder what i've been up to so far this year.i made a post tonight on the kids teens parenting board that tells some of it.check it out.. plus i'll add this.. since i quit meetings cold turkey believe it or not i've not experienced even one withdrawl symtom!!yea!.
i was in shock at first and it took me awhile to grasp that i was truly free.not df'd or da'd.
i don't believe in either and do not believe any man or group of men have the right to take friends and family from us!most of our friends and family have labled us anyway but that's their choice.. shall i confess my sins?

Ahh, Sweet Freedom, Ranchette, I can relate to exactly everything you are feeling. How exhilarating it is to be so unburdened from the horrible restraints we once endured. How wonderful to free oneself from the unrealistic expectations of others. What a relief to break free of the bonds of religious enslavement, and spiritual abuse. How refreshing to look at the world and life without the dark glasses of the Borg. I am enjoying all the things in life I never had a chance to think about before. Life is good now, and evern during bad times it feels not so bad when guilt is removed from the equation. I am truly happy for you Ranchette, and all of us who have escaped from the monotony of the weekly rut at the Kindom Hall.

Blondie, I had heard the one who had commited the murder was definitely an ex-bethelite, but unlike the comment from the elder that was contacted, he was not "inactive" as was told to the press.
