When ever it is that they are crying peace and security, could be said about the Watchtower Publishing Corp. They have always bragged how they dwell in a "spiritual paradise" and they are at peace and have security within. I guess he who thinks he is standing beware that he does not fall. The Organization is fighting it's own little wars within since in thier hautiness they scoffed at other religions of "Christendom" and arrogantly drew cartoons of clergy running with arrows in thier butts, and little children being carried by their mothers while buildings fell on them. Look who's under the heat now. I don't think they feel very secure anymore.

The important issue is not whether JW want to believe there is a Pedophile Problem in thier "clean organization". They will always be in denial no matter who is the messenger of the news they don't want to hear. As any victim when they tried to talk about it with those they trusted. The important issue is that the Watchtower Society was always able to bully into silence any victim and thier families if they tried to bring the matter out. The Watchtower Society used elders to tell victims to be silent lest they face dicipline for slander, even if it had become known to the authorities. In our case, the elders did not report it to the police. When they learned that the pedophile had molested many members of the circuit and in his family they told him to get "help" for his "problem" from Social Services so he could have the hope of getting re-instated. When he called Social Services they called DYFS who got in touch with the prosecutor. Then they arrested the pedophile. The elders informed us that it was in "Ceasars hands" now and if we were questioned by Ceasar, we should not tell them what our religion was, so as not to bring reproach on Jehovah. They also told us "we were the only ones" this had happened to and the Society was learning from our case. It was after Bill Bowen got involved with us and our case when he first wrote to the Society, that we were made aware of the full magnitude of the amount of child molestation cases the WT was hiding. You can say what you want about Bill, but it is he alone that has been the voice that has helped not only victims to come out and talk about their forced silence by their religeous community but he has been extremely effective in bringing this problem into the public limelight, even internationally. Who really cares whether or not the JW's believe him or throw the attention on the looks and dress of Bill and victims. They are avoiding what is obvious. Pedophiles are going door to door, looking at the children in those congregation's territories, and free to conduct bible studies with these families. Many of these pedophiles are elders and family members of elders. It is like and infection. Bill has opened up the eyes of the public about Watchtower. I applaud all of his hard work and efforts, as unorthadox as you may think, he is getting them to take notice and that is an accomplishment many victims have yearned for. I still get calls from victims and survivors from all over the country thanking our family for speaking out on this subject. I have also been still getting phone calls from newspapers and documentary producer wanting us to tell our story. It is because of Bill Bowen. If JWs want to believe that I am an apostate that has taken up the cause of child abuse, that is because the WTS has misled them to believe that. I was once a devout JW who left because of this issue and the corruption and lies of the Society. In my mind it is the WTS and those elders who have hijacked the abuse issue and minimize it and become apostate.

Jesus taught that his coming would be Good News for man. His birth was announced as Peace on earth to men of goodwill. If Armegeddon does come the Prince of Peace, Wonderful Councellor, will not be what Bin Laden and Jehovah's Witnesses want, for they have no goodwill toward men. They dream of death and destruction be they "Infidel" or "Worldlings" or "Pagans" or "Apostates". They don't want peace or goodwill they want total submission. They tear down, they dream death to those who are not them. They teach fear. They teach that your life is worthless. They surely do not reflect the Prince of Peace and the Good News for all Mankind. Don't be afraid Monkey. Trust in God not those earthly religeous fanatics who believe the earth is only for them. It is not theres to give or pass on. They echo Satan's words. Joelbear, you are feeling what so many of us have felt. You miss the love,and security, the hope, and fellowship, and healing power of what you believed or thought you were deriving from this religous community. It was very real to you at that time but it just is not so. You have become wise to thier false way of living thier life. Thier love is not really love. And if you go back you will really not be able to show a loyal love to Mitch. You will be expected to behave the way they do towards all who don't believe thier beliefs. You will be expected to believe everyone other than them and you are worthy of dying the way everyone else did at the WTC on 9/11. That is what they want you to feel especially now during these insecure times. But I don't believe that lie anymore. You are living in a wonderful time of history. Yes men on the earth are violent but man has always been barbaric towards one another. We have become more humanitarian now than any other time in history. Women have been treated with respect more than any other time in history. Children are viewed as more important and worthy of respect and protection more than any other time in history. Your relationship with Mitch is viewed with more respect than any other time in history. Good does overcome evil and we can do good without the "group" or "cult" looking over our shoulder watching, peaching, and turning one another in if we don't comply. You will be going back to that kind of thinking. It is the same kind of thinking in that fudamentalist country threatening to destroy the infidel. J W's thinking is the same. You will be expected to shun, to judge, to deny, to condem, to worship a human directed publishing company or else. Take some time to listen to all the kind words many have spoken to you here. So many of us have made wonderful lives for ourselves, not with that false security of the WT but with the faith in the unknown, and faith in thier own strengths given to them by what this Universal being has given them. Don't underestimate your own strength to take charge of your own happiness. That power lies within only you. No one else and no group can give you that. Mulan, I too fear for Laci Peterson. My heart aches so for her family. She was supposed to give birth to her son, Connor yesterday. Her husband's actions are making him look so heartless, and guilty. It is no wonder his lawyer will not let him take a lie detector test, for if he takes on and he fails it, they will know not to look for other suspects even though it is not allowed as evidence in court, it still tells the police of his guilt in the crime so they can focus on him and make a sooner arrest.
D8TA - Yes, there are many important things in this world, but when we become victims of an experience that involves what happened to Laci, it seems right and human to connect, and to come to the aid of those suffering over what has happened to her. Her family needs support. The news media has been a huge help in getting them the help, love and support they need to endure this right now. It's called caring for one another. Maybe if you were in thier shoes you would appreciate the information getting out to help find your loved one and you may be more judgemental toward the one that seems to be the perpetrator.

I am an American, and always felt that way even as a JW. Yes I agree with you that many on this board are not as Patriotic as you or I may feel. I could also explain why I disagree with many of their reasoning, but I could never, never put it so eloquently as Sarah Annie did in her post. She so hit the nail right on the head. And to add to that , yes our country may be arrogant, and proud, but we are living in a country that would never do to it's people what Saddam has done to his. I know there are many corrupt politicians, but there is a greater picture here. There are good forces and evil forces. We have seen the difference in the past and in the recent times this past year. Adolf Hitler was an example of one of the darkest most evil driven force reckoned with lasy century. I suspect Bin Laden, and Saddam Hussein have made their way into being two of the darkest evil forces during this century. Say what some of you will against President Bush, but the good that has come out of dealing with these evil forces recently is the freedom that many of those Afghanistanian women have enjoyed recently. They are free to take off thier Burka and thier daughters are free to have an education and use thier education in the free world. Just as women in our country do. You know we were all devout Jehovha Witnesses at one time until we realized that belief system has all the same attitude as Bin Laden, believe as he does or die. I would rather believe as was once said in the Bible, that greater love has no man than to lay down his life for another. That is what soldiers are doing over there and have done in the past so we and our children can have the freedoms we enjoy in this country. Women in Afganistan have taken off their Burka because someone was willing to die over their to save the world from the evil forces that rule that country. I would not want my son to die for this country, but I am damned glad somebody else's son loved his fellow man enough to die for a principle that keeps us free to choose how we speak, how we believe, how we live and how we die. September 11 was a wake up call that helped me to see just how evil forces can be, and how much I love this country. God Bless America.

All such great insights. Kenneson I agree with you. And also Paduan. The tract with the picture of Jesus being offered all the kingdoms of the earth by Satan is misleading by the Watchtower teaching that these Kingdoms were Satan's to give to Jesus if he did an act of worship. That scripture, to me, proves the opposite. Jesus, if you think about it told Satan to go away. Jesus, being the one who was sent to this world by his Heavenly Father, to bring peace to all mankind and an indefinitely lasting rulership, this prince of peace knew full well Satan could not have the authority to give these kingdoms to Jesus. They were already given to him by his Father. Jesus himself was there in creating them in the beginning. Evil does not prevail when there is goodness representing the Creator. When I think about that tract with that hand gripped around the globe I think of the Watchtower's tight grip on the members. It is they who are actually mimicing Satan by saying in effect that if you do an act of worship to me you will have all the kingdoms of the earth, and live forever on it, and you will positively not die. Watchtower is speaking Satan's words to the R&F, the way Satan spoke to Eve, and tried to speak to Jesus. I think about this often lately and it seems to make more sense to me.
