This is all so OVERWHELMINGLY SAD. My children have friends who work there. My son is attending New York Institute of Technology, and his dorm is right there. He just told us he is ok and he and his roommate are in the Dorm watching the news. We were not able to get in touch with him because cell phones have been down and all circuits have been busy. He wants to get out of the city and come home tonight but I don't know if it will be easy. I am not sure NYIT will be open for classes tomorrow. His friend just took a job at the WTC. I am also worried about someone else I know who works there. I can't imagine any religion being joyful over events like this and saying "god is good" I wish I could go over there and voluteer to help somehow. It is something that we never thought about as Jehovah's Witnesses. But now the thought of the people that were in that building when it fell and the pictures on the news are heartwrenching, and at times like this we are all brothers and sisters wanting to be there to help one another.

i've been out all day, so i apologize in advance if anyone already posted this info.. one of my jw relatives (whom i happened to see while visiting my dad this afternoon) told my mother that she'd have to "turn in her ticket to the elders to get a replacement.
" from what she said, they've changed the color of the ticket.

Not to long ago I cut out pictures of all the scarey and intimidating pictures from the Red Revelation book we studied at the bookstudy several times. I did this to show someone how the Beast pictures are so grotesque with the blood dripping, swords, death destruction etc. I then put all these pictures in a folder ad when I shared them with the friend he was amazed and disgusted by the terrifying pictures that we forced our children to regularly soak in. It is no wonder so many who grew up looking at these pictures end up being fearful of so many things, like flying in airplanes, or just ordinary things that can cause anxiety. The WT actually encourages the members to not only accept these death threat pictures, but also encourages members to convey these death threat messages to those who leave . I myself have gotten letters from so called friends who have told me that they will no longer associate with me and my family because we are in "danger", and have chosen a "dangerous" course that will cost our children their lives and we are responsible. Refering to the Israelites at the Red Sea who were "destroyed". If we wanted to come back to the Kingdom Hall we know where our "True Friends" are. With friends like this I never will need enemies. These are truly meanspirited people. Anyway when I look at the pictures in the folder all cut out of the Revelation Book, it has a great impact to see the reality of how negative, antagonistic, and intimidating this religion is in thought control of it's members. To look at all the blood in this book it is a wonder this religion claims to have such high respect for blood.

Although I did not see the show, it seems to me from reading some of the posts here, is that she is being "judged" which is something we have all been programed to do by the judgemental religion we were associated with. Sexual molestation has such far reaching effects upon the conscious and unconsious mind when it is perpetrated on a small child by a family member caregiver, let alone a father on a little daughter. Calling her "whacko" and "nut" is unkind and meanspirited and downright J W like and ignorant. Sexual abuse on a small child when it is ongoing and progressive causes disconnection and disassociation, and they are skills that the child learns early to protect herself from the reality of the horror. Unfortunately this disassociative response continues as the child grows and becomes a "learned" behavior mechanism that comes about under certain circumstances. Often the condition is diagnosed Disassociative Identity Disorder, which is the most extreme of disassociative disorders. An older term for this condition is Multiple personality Disorder or MPD. If Anne Heche was dissociated into an altered state, or sometimes referred to as an alter ego, she may very well have a "part" of her that is very much lesbian, and a talented one in the performing arts. That doesn't mean that she doesn't have other very heterasexual parts in her fragmented personalities. A person with D I D can also have very young child like parts that feel powerless and helpless and also very angrey adolescent parts that are angry and act out feelings triggered by circumstances that are familiar to her abuse. Her break up with her lover may have triggered another part of her personality. I have done a lot of research on this condition and those people who are diagnosed with this condition also can lead very productive lives, and are often very intellegent and talented, and can live good lives on the proper medications to control the dissociative behaviors. Many of us who come into the Organization can take on a psuedo personality that fits into the lifestyle of J W's. It takes time, and often psycholigical help with a good therapist to heal from the emotional aftermath of this cultlike relious community. I decided when I stopped practicing the doctrines and behaviors of that awful religion, I would never judge anyone again. I have seen too much. Just my thoughts everyone. I'm not meaning to judge anyone here but I felt I wanted to throw out another side to what some were saying regarding this girl's mental condition.

Grunt, the scripture you used from Isaiah is the one I have always reasoned in my mind and heart why this religous community really does not truly worship with their heart. They are so caught up in thier own desires that are really fleshly. Looking back on the many conventions I used to attend I remember the usual topic of conversation was not based on the program as much as socializing, who was there, and who was not there,..... "guess who I saw at the assembly.... Brother elder from..,sister tight skirt with the slit up her ass.....etc., etc.,
Another scripture that reminds me of this people is the one that says "always learning yet never coming to an accurate knowledge". Jehovah's Witnesses spend thier entire time learning changing doctrines, underlining paragraphs, being "graded" on thier school talks. Studying thier everchanging doctrines. They only know performing for group approval, or face group rejection. You are not allowed to excersize your own conscience if it conflicts with Headquarters Legal or Service Dept. Fear of man not God is what they have. I am so glad my family stood up and will continue to stand up to them in our upcoming court date.
