There have been posts and topics about the WTBS imploding and feuding factions in Bethel etc. Some have said that the end is near for the WTBS. Is this just wishful thinking...or do you really think that this is a reality? I want to believe it...but it is almost too good to be true. That being said, when I was growing up in the 70's I never imagined that the Berlin Wall would come down, or that the Cold War with the Soviet Union would cease, and yet the unbelievable happened. What clear evidence, other than the many contradictions that the Society is getting caught in, indicates the demise of the WTBS?

New Wave JW's . . . I sort of got a chuckle out of this one.
by Corvin inthe apostates over at e-watchman's forum are dillusional .
first class spiritual nutjobs, if you will.
we know they do not consider themselves to be apostate, but they believe they will do the most good by staying in the organization so that when the foundations of the society are shaken, and they believe it will happen soon, they will be there to aid and comfort the jw's who don't know what to do or where to go.

Very interesting Corvin...New Wave JW's. It makes no sense to me because if they believe that they are "in the Truth", then they have to believe that the WTBS is truly "The Faithful And Discreet Slave". If they believe that then any type of rebellion, or contrary thought, would automatically eliminate them from "The Truth". At what point do they think reform is part of the equation? As you have pointed out, their reasoning is screwy, especially the reasoning that they are not apostates. When people try to justify actions it seems they never examine the reasoning and see how contradictory it is. Your right...they are nutjobs.
The ones who are "discredited" are also waiting in the wings to come back and help the sheeplike ones when the WTBTS goes under.
People wanting power...always under the guise of "helping". What a bunch of morons!

An apology to you all...
by CeriseRose ini just finished commenting on minimus' thread (oh man, i hope it was his thread now...not enough coffee yet to be fully brained today...).
anyway, it was the thread on how everyone was choosing to leave/has left from the org.
i hate with a passion the fact that i was judged while in the wts.

But I fully judged and branded those who left the organization, going along with the 'company line,' without thinking about the people behind it or their possible reasons for why they'd leave.
CeriseRose,
I have felt great regret, sorrow, and self loathing, over "going along with the company line". I would get distressed over the weddings that I did not attend of my nephews, and other relatives that had left the org, as well as cutting away nieces that had gotten pregnant out of wedlock etc., because I was an MS and had to toe the line so that I would be an "example" in the Cong.
What was very cathartic for me was to re-attach with my nephews and nieces. I spent time with every one of them and apologized for my rude behaviour. I told them all that I love them and that I would never again allow something to come between us. I did not blame the Org, because I felt that I did ultimately make a choice, even though the brainwashing and pressure to conform was ever present. What a gift I received from them! Every one of them expressed that it was the Org that was twisted and that, although they regretted the lost time with me, they understood the position that I was in at the time. I could not take away all of the hurt, but it sure helped me and them.
I realize that not every situation allows the opportunity to apologize for past behaviour and mistakes, but if the opportunity is there, take it. It is amazing how comforting it can be. It helps with the inner distress and dialogue that occurs.
One more note: Ever notice that you never hear dubbies express regret, or distress, over the way they treat people? They are always running roughshod over everyone as if it is a divine right. Yet most on this board express deep emotion and heartfelt regret over the way they have acted in the past. Is it the people that have a good heart that leave the Org...or is it the other way around, that they rekindle the heart after they leave?

TWO more rebellions after Armageddon- is it REALLY "Paradise"?
by gumby inas witnesses, we believed that for a thousand years in the new system ....life would be grand.
at the termination of the thousand year rule of jesus, we learned satan would be let loose and many paradise dwellers would follow him.
why do you suppose the majority of mankind who had no satan or demons to influence them, would want to follow a wicked wiley snake who already got his arse kicked twice now already from god for rebelling.

Gumby,
I have pondered your question many times over the years that I was a dubbie. It is funny that it was always emphasized in talks etc. (and the majority of JW's still feel this way) that you just have to make it through the Great Tribulation and Armageddon and you will be all set forever...whoops! Not forever, 'cuz you have to keep being tested! What a joke!
Schizm:
Can you say "stupid"? Also, there are people today who know that smoking can cause cancer, but they continue to smoke just the same. Simply knowing that something is bad doesn't necessarily mean they are immune to being tempted to do it again.
The flaw in your argument is that today, according to the Society, people are grossly imperfect and are inclined to badness. So smoking, according to the Org, is sin and weakness due to imperfection. In the 1000 year reign, aren't humans supposed to be perfect????? Temptation is supposedly easily refused and willfull action would have to be involved. So...Gumby's question still stands and is legitimate:
Why do you suppose THE MAJORITY of (perfect) mankind who had no Satan or demons to influence them, would want to follow a wicked wiley snake who already got his arse kicked twice now already from god for rebelling.--Gumby
Answer: Because the
theorydogma is a load of garbage designed by religion (men who benefit from power) to keep the masses under control.Good topic Gumby.

Daughter Dating DUB Update (Really Long)
by Corvin inthis is an update regarding my 17 yo who was dating an unbaptized publisher, carl,18.
when he first began dating her i sat them both down and made sure carl understood that he was visiting the home of a df?d brother who also be considered by the society to be an apostate.
i gave him this direct info not wanting to encroach upon his conscience incase he was maintaining a good one, and incase he was looking to make progress in the jw congregation.

Great job, as usual Corvin. It has already been said, but I find your control with not beating the kid to within an inch of his life, to be amazing. Also, your willingness to let your daughter learn things on her own is a great lesson...I am taking notes.

BREAKING NEWS FROM GOVERNING BODY
by wannaexit inrecently the local congregation had the visit of the c.o.
the local needs talk he usually gives was replaced by a talk he said will be given to many congregations around the world.. this talk is targeting th very young.
kids are being strongly encouraged not to put off baptism and that children as young as 10 can make an informed decision to get baptized.
-
exjdub
Seems like everything they damned the Catholic Church for is now being adopted by them!
I thought the same thing Sunnygal. Why don't they just get it over with and announce new light on baptism and start sprinkling children at birth like the Catholics? That way they can artificially inflate the numbers and make it appear there is still growth going on. What hypocrites!

Rutherford's Views on Women
by Leolaia in"the women make monkeys or dupes of men.
the men have before effeminate, soft and easily influenced and have lost their real manhood and sturdiness in the affairs of state and home.
for instance, when men are sitting at a table and a woman approaches, all the men arise and pay her homage and thereby elevate her to a place above men.

"The women make monkeys or dupes of men.
Now wait a second Leolaia...there is some truth to that. LOL! This is especially true when some men think with the wrong part of the body.

Regulations Beyond Those Provided in the Scriptures

conscience
jehovah's witnesses avoid making rules and regulations beyond those provided in the scriptures, and they do not follow traditions that contradict bible teachings.

Woman wearing a napkin on their head to conduct a study or say prayer in front of an unworthy baptized brother. Interestingly, they can teach on the platform as long as there is another woman across the table. Where did they read that in the scriptures? What a bunch of crap!
Somebody: Whew! That wore me out. Great post!
