Good idea. Several years ago in Ft. Lauderdale, I placed an ad for the same in one of the local magazines. I got a lot of calls, and was able to meet quite a few people. Expect some of the signs to be taken down by any current JW's though that happen to see them. Good luck!

Kingdom Hall Destroyed By Fire
by Kenneson inthe denbigh, virginia kingdom hall was destroyed by an accidental fire begun by a member who was welding and soldering pipes in a bathroom.
the insulation ignited and although he tried to extinguish the blaze, he was unsuccessful.
3 congregations used the building; now they have nowhere to meet and will have to rebuild.. http://www.dailypress.com/news/local/dp-36592sy0jun30,0,4261948

Wonder if he'll be disfellowshipped for burning down the hall......
My marshmallows are here, and the fire's there.
Plans already were being discussed to erect another Kingdom Hall and tear down the building dedicated in 1982 because of constant flooding and mold in the basement, members said.
Hmmmmmm. Velly Intellesting...... -

Paradise Now!
by new light init occurred to me yesterday that, for the most part, the jw dream of paradise could be created by us lowly humans.
sure, the animal kingdom would still have predators and prey, we would not be immortal, and the weather would still have a mind of its own.
however, most of the conditions you see pictured in jw literature could be created by us humans.

Paradise could happen if everyone would only Visualize Whirled Peas!!!

I had my fill of Chap-stick when I was a child-Literally. I used to eat it, and don't really care for it anymore, although last X-mas I was given a Tootsie Roll flavored tube, and have used that on occasion.

Former Bethelite comes out and shares story
by Dogpatch ini was always a shy kid that desperately wanted to make my parents proud.
at about this same time i started to hang out with some guys that my dad didn?t particularly approve of.
i wonder how my life would have turned out had i stopped at any point between ages 14 and 19 and asked myself who exactly i was doing all this for.

Hello Michael,
I am so sorry you are going through now what many of us have already encountered. You have a tough road ahead of you, but by your letter, you sound like a very mature and responsible person. It sounds like you always have looked out for other's feelings. Now it is time to look out for your own feelings, so that you can begin the healing process. It makes me so mad that so many people are going through the same issues over and over regarding the Shunning issue, and losing everything that they have accomplished in relationships with family and friends. It is not a good feeling to feel alone after such things happen, but it sounds as though you have already made a start by making friends and acquaintances outside the Org. Maybe someday your Parents and siblings will come around. If not, it really has nothing to do with you. It is their decision to keep you from being part of their family. They are doing it as they feel they have to, whether that is their real desire or not. I appreciate that you took such a long time writing your letter to your parents, making sure everything was just right, and wording things so as not to downplay the Org. It shows that you are very sensible, caring, and level-headed. This may work to your benefit one day towards having a relationship with your parents if things ever change with them. You were non-accusatory in your letter, and I am sure your parents understand that, and that may get them to realize that they need to do a little soul searching on their own.
I hope things start looking up for you, and I hope that you will join us here. You will gain a lot of much needed support, and you will be in an atmosphere for the most part that is kind, loving, and supportive.
Best wishes to you.
CJ
Thank you Randy for sharing with us Michael's letter!
