Another question: Do you think she (the JW) will notice a change in the attitude or friendliness toward her of her Kingdom Hall Elders & friends AFTER her first year in the org is over?

If a ex-dub mate starts throwing apostate comments to the dub mate, Elders can be quick about encouraging a seperation.
Gumby, if he (the x-dub) has been throwing apostate comments to her, is she REQUIRED to report this to the Elders? Can't a husband and wife talk about things in the privacy of their own home without the Elders knowing?

I know this young couple; the wife is a JW and the husband is not (and has no desire to become one). The wife was baptised AFTER they got married. She has been a JW for almost a year. My question is: since she has not been successful in converting her husband into a dub, will her Elders really start getting on her case now since her first year "love bombing" is over?? Will they go so far as to suggest she divorce him??

It's so hard to understand how this org can dictate to their followers that they're not allowed to celebrate Mother's Day (and other holidays)......it makes me so sad for them....... i know there are numerous examples of crazy, whacked out stuff that the wtbts taught that most of here now realize were just that...... crazy and whacked......... but do you know how insane some of the stuff in that original 1961 bible was?.
This isn't really related to the green Bible thread, but I noticed one (of many) weird things about the NWT. In the book of Matthew, they're calling the baby Jesus an "it". Why do they call Him an "it"?
hello everyone nemo here...just keep swimming, swimming, swimming.. anyway, i let my closest friend know how i felt currently about the organization and what affect it has had on me.
she has agreed to not share it with anyone, she won't, but these are the questions she possed to me.
i need to reply soon but my mind is overwhelmed with everything i have learned so i would like help formulating some answers.
Jehovah's organization is imperfect and constantly being refined.
A couple thoughts:
Why would Jehovah choose an organization that just can't get it right (false prophesies, flip-flop teachings, scandals, etc. etc.)?? The answer is.......He's not.
People don't need an ORGANIZATION to serve God. He works through individual hearts.
personally, i could care less about god and/or jesus, have no use for either of them, very disappointed in how they run things.
and when i die, i hope i get the chance to tell him/them that.. there was a great song in the late 80's early 90's by depeche mode called blasphemous rumours(spelling ?
) "i don't want to start any blasphemous rumours, but i think that god has a sick sense of humour, and when i die i expect to find him laughing.".

What you've said is very true. It is not God's fault that people have chosen the wrong path (the WTS path). There are many, many warnings in the Bible about false prophets and not to be deceived by them. The WTS is absolutely one these many modern-day false prophets.

I admit I need to bite my tongue sometimes on this board with the whole Christianity thing. I respect others' views, but I sometimes don't respect the way they try to manipulate others into believing those views.
Have you ever thought maybe it's not to manipulate people......but because someone CARES where YOU are going to spend eternity after you die? I'm sorry if I sounded rude, but this is a very serious thing and not something to just be passed off as...."oh well, maybe it's true....or maybe it's not true.....la dee da". One second after we ALL die, we will ALL know the truth. Maybe I don't have the truth, but I'll sure find out after this earthly life ends......no doubt about that. Forgive me if I've offended anyone......
