Is the GB brainwashed?

somthing thats beenpuzzling me... is the gb as brain washed as the r&f or are they actualy aware of how wrong they are?

if they are aware then that would make them very evil as the deception of their flock is then caluated.

but do they actualy belive the crap they put out?.

I believe they are well aware of their guilty behaviour and have put their entire emotional being into deceiving and exploiting their followers, the error they perpetrate is too massive for them to be unaware of it. In case they are not aware of it this is because they chose to ignore it and live in the parallel universe, call it a singed conscience or a hypocritical mindset. Surely they are aware of their numerous doctrinal errors and the destructive effects of many of these upon their followers.

Ed Dunlop and many other exemplary JWs were viciously villified and expelled by GB members just for wanting to study the Bible without the WTS literature. Ray Franz was expelled for dining with someone who was himself expelled merely for disagreeing about 1919 being the year of the (so called) invisible return of Christ, a ridiculous and totally groundless claim made by the JWs. Likewise the Swedish JW historian Johansen was expelled for producing a very well documented negation of the 607 BC date.

It's an understandable decision that more countries should be taking and anyone can see why the Russians saw the JWs as they reallly are, a dangerous cult that destroys families, behaves towards its members in a ruthlessly dictatorial manner and causes needless deaths through its blood transfusion ban. In Russia there is no obsession as in the west with political correctness to hold them back from dealing harshly where this is called for.

Of course the JWs are mind conditioned to see it as an unjustified persecution instead of a policy that aims to reduce family destruction and needless deaths.

just supposing that you belive in it... i used to always wonder, how on earth are we going to get from one country to the other?

i mean old type ships used to take months to get around!

The whole paradise earth JW concept is a myth (lie) contrived as a means to draw people into the WTS. It is bound to appear more enticing compared to going to a paradise in heaven as a disembodied soul since that is something that no human ever experienced, a very abstract, cold and distant kind of concept. Whereas the earth is already well known and familiar something anyone can relate to, otherwise put it's a better bait.

Needless to say that the early christian church members looked forward to a heavenly existance and had no concept of a paradise earth and a great crowd of believers excluded from heaven was contrived on obviously spurious grounds to consolidate the idea of an earthly paradise. In reality the approved faithful will move freely between earth and heaven since both of these realms belong to them. It will not be one at the exclusion of the other.

However the JWs if asked the above question will simply say Jehovah will take care of everything. BTW chocolate (cocoa) nowadays does not just come from South America, its original home, but also from several West African countries, Indonesia and Malaysia though most of the best cocoa variety called Criollo is produced in Southern and Central America.

Why do Ex-JWs start celebrating pagan Christmas?

hiya guys and gals.

im not trying to be self-righteous but i want to understand the thought process of someone who knows the origins of christmas, but starts celebrating it (putting up christmas tree, exchanging wrapped gifts; repeating merry christmas to everyone they see in the month of december)??

it seems very silly to me (imo) after knowing how and why christmas was created (to cater to pagans sun worship and convert to christianity)!!

Why should Christmas be wrong and why be so bothered about its pagan origins which is totally immaterial since Christmas does not have a pagan spirit and does not promote any pagan ideas or practices. To the contrary it is a christian or if you like long since christianised celebration with the spirit of christinity, it reminds people of the humble coming of the saviour into the world and the good will of God towards mankind. And that's what really matters is it not? Christians can even eat meat sacrificed to the idols because the idols were after all non existant as much as the pagans trembled before them.

And refering to the past origins rather than the subsequent function of Christmas is emotionally retarded to say the least, it really sacks s--t. Christians can do whatever they want with pagan celebrations to integrate them and use them for their own purposes after all they defeated paganism following an attrocious battle and had to take some tropies from them. To the WTS the christmas ban serves as a means to isolate and alienate their members from human society so they can be better trapped, held captive and manipulated.

Finally if we look at the man who invented these ideologies ie Ruthrford we will quickly see that he did not have the credentials to be a christian religious leader since he had a very unsaintly character and connections with occultism and free masonry which has a genuinely pagan ideology.

At the end of the day it's the spirit of Christmas and Easter and the crucifix that really matters and not their origin whatever it may be.

A Weakness of the Information Age

i love the overall direction the world is taking right now thanks to technology and esp the internet.

the world is a much smaller place.

we can now have instant commuinication and know what is going on in the world at any given time.. perhaps its a happy accident that the internet has evolved into a cheap, sometimes free platform for news distribution.

I see nothing negative in the way the internet makes an abundance of news sources available in fact it is better because it helps you escape the traditional off line news venues which almost always manipulated news eg by leaving out those news that didn't fit in with their agenda thus presenting a very one sided view of issues. To be sure news were carefully filtered and chosen but presented in a cunning way that made one think they were undirected, unbiased and fairly presented.

Those that understand English are in good luck because there are online newspapers from almost every country in the world giving in all a multitude of view points on important issues, in English, so it's much easier to understand what's really going on. For those that know additional languages so much the better. This breaking of the monopoly of traditional news media really began in the late 1980's with home satellite TV.

And as someone said above not buying actual newspapers saves the trees as well as your money in fact when I first went online I soon realised that I was saving money, the monthly cost of internet as a news source (not counting all the other info) was less than the cost of the daily newspaper plus a couple of weekly magazines I used to buy in those times in a month.

Hitler took a big gamble and failed, he was hoping to beat Russia and reach the Urals for a massive conquest that would make Germany great and invincible but instead the Russians conquered part of Germany. In the eastern war they beat them almost entirely with their own power and my impression is they would still have eventually defeated them and captured the whole of Germany even if America hadn't entered the war. The despised slavic undermen proved superior to Hitler's master race who after Kursk (August 1943) were doomed in the East.

They just manipulate the emotion of fear in order to control their members (victims) and there is nothing unusual about this since most religions are doing it or were doing it in the past. No religion views its departing members kindly and will do anything to degrade them or even exterminate them as is the case with the Moslems, apostates are tortured and beheaded.

Amazing, I am not trying to invalidate the catholic (or the orthodox) church but a careful reading of the history of its heads, the popes, leaves much to be desired. The fact is that they and also the protestant churches simply failed in their mission to genuinely christianise society and often engaged in activities that drove things in the opposite direction. It's that taming of the raw instincts and their integration into spiritual forms that was never achieved, never taken seriously. The excessive lust for wealth, power, glory and also sex. Only relatively few individuals kept up a good standard, as an example Saint Francis.

Question for our scholars...

i was asked an interesting question by a jw relative and was not exactly sure how to answer it...thought i would throw it out to the scholars on the board:.

what was the expectation of an afterlife for faithful ones living before jesus was sacrificed?...did they believe they would have an afterlife on earth or in heaven?.

Overall I could never figure out why all the dead who will be resurrected on earth have to wait for that time while living in heaven, what's the point of coming back to earth if their natural abode after death is heaven? And how can they be said to be resurrected if they are not really dead?

I think the post death fate of humans was never clarified in the old testament and the pre-christian jews just had a vague concept of some future resurrection.

Numerous christians, prophecied and taught without any reference to any GB in Jerusalem, merely by the motivation of the Holy Spirit. The ones that first sought to centralise power in the manner of the JW leaders were the popes of Rome not the leaders of the Jerusalem church who wouldn't even conceive in their minds such a monstrosity.

So the JWs are doing well to ask why their leaders claim that the Holy Spirit deals with only them, just ten or twenty individuals. Also what happened to the GB institution after the destruction of Jerusalem, supposedly they left that city before the Romans put it under siege and were scattered all over Palestine. The Jerusalem church for all we know disintegrated in this way.

Finally think, the Jerusalem leaders practised a kind of Christianity that was much at variance with Pauline Christianity. They believed in following the Mosaic law which Paul taught was a kind of curse as well as being obsolete and pointless after Christ. Many of these Jewish Christians thought of Paul as an evil traitor and apostate from Judaism. So Paul was obviously ignoring this GB and following his own way.
