When you finally came to the JW meeting that you knew was your last one, what were your thoughts, feelings or actions?
My last was the summer convent of 1986. I stood there until everyone left and then I took a picture with my new camera of the empty stadium, the wish being that the WTS would collapse and never fill up again stadiums with people.

Jeff, that we can't know for sure, since we don't exactly know the state of their finances, so it depends on how well they invested the profits they made in previous years or decades and what they get out of them now. I don't think they rely exclusively on donations at this point in time, and much depends on the ability of their financial planners/advisors.

After Reading CoC It Seems This Could Apply to Dub Loyalty to the Org - LOL
by adelmaal inthe below analogy made me think about how in coc whenever a new article comes out in the wt the dubs loyally obey without questioning whether or not it has any bible basis or whether or nor it is morally right (i.e.
disassociated ones to be shunned just as disfellowshipped ones, ones who personally disagree with any of the established beliefs (even if they are not outwardly promoting such disagreement) are to be considered apostates and should be disfellowshipped, etc.).
it's amazing how the org can say it's black even if it's white and blind faith causes the dubs not to question it.

To get the dubs to believe almost everything they tell them they must have used some clever psychology. Critical thinking was switched off. Perhaps the idea that the FDS is intimately associated with their salvation and eternal life as they came to believe it, he set up the org that will take them through the big A. They have a soft spot for them and lap up everything they tell them. He is also a favoured one of God....

You are absolutely right they say that they are directed by the Holy Spirit but in fact it's their lust for power that directs everything they do, they only care about their position and status not the flock, their conscience has been singed they have long since been claimed by the devil.

Honesty you are really angry with them, that you "disfellowshipped the GB and the entire WTS" is like your signature here. They must have treated you really awefully.

Shunning JWs and cultural background
by greendawn init appears that most jw parents follow the insane instruction of the gb to shun their own children in case they leave or get expelled from the org, that's what we perceive by reading ex-jw sites.
that may well be the case in the english speaking countries mainly represented on this board for example, but i find it difficult to believe that the same occurs with jws of different origins eg southern european, latin american, japanese where family ties are much stronger.
the different cultural background could influence jws in taking certain decisions such as this.

That confirms my suspicion that much of what we see on this board is not universally true in the JW world, but only within the anglo american (anglophone)world with its strong protestant background and even then there are exceptions from region to region or even congo to congo. I could not imagine how an Italian for example would shun his children for any reason.
Also despite the JW ban on beards when I was one I did grow a beard but no one really cared. Only once an elder said to me "why are you growing a beard" and another one who was there said "but it suits him better". -

I got out long ago, became totally and finally inactive at fs in 1980, last ever meeting in 1986, disassociation letter in 1987.
Once I perceived their real game, there was no longer any point in promoting their org. -

Was The Govering Body Decieved Into Dividing Up The Organization?
by frankiespeakin inwhat if the legal advice that the governing body got to divide up into all those diferent organizations was actually a very clever sceem to take way control from the governing body,, and they fell for it hook line and sinker???
anybody who has been in the legal department at bethel, for just a short time must realize the gb are seriously full of shit.
that's why i think either for selfish reasons or just plane disgust,, some individual or perhaps several individuals could easily play on the fears of the governing body to manipulate them to make huge mistakes, like dividing up into all these different organizations.

Pleasuredom you may well be right but then who do you suspect controls the WTS?
