The old fraudsters have always been masters at the use of arguments that are meant to intimidate and frighten, the one I recall is about someone who touched the ark when it was about to tilt over and fall, to prevent it from doing so, and got struck by the jewish god jehovah.
The moral is that the R&F JWs should not meddle in matters of doctrine or else jehovah will seriously harm them.

Scariest FDS "AUTHORITY" articles ...
by ithinkisee in.
one of the traits of cults is that they constantly have to re-assert their authority and remind people that they are the boss and to listen and not question.. what are the scariest examples of authority articles to you in the society's publications?.

WTS upper echelons.
by greendawn indoes any one know who writes all the wts literature?
books pamphlets, magazines?
i heard there is a writing department consisting of about 200 individuals.

So the service department seems to be quite powerful since they decide who should participate in the various ranks of the hierarchy beneath the GB, under the guidance of the Holy Spirit LOL.
But if the writing committee is made up mostly of non annointed doesn't that expose the GB as manipulators since they exclude the annointed, whom they supposedly represent, from providing spiritual food? Obviously things don't add up here. -

A decent and viable substitute for the WTS
by greendawn inlet's suppose that a large number of ex jws decided to get together and set up a new religious entity to provide any spiritual benefits, that were provided by the wts but as we all know in an exploitative and destructive way.
in a devious way much bitterness was added to whatever benefit they gave.
what would your suggestions be in the way of forming such an entity?

What would your suggestions be in the way of forming such an entity? I would for example want it to be totally democratic with no centralised power and accountable to its members for its actions. Also to be a lot more charitable and generally to be what the WTS should be but is not. -

How far back are j.w.'s allowed to research the w.t. doctrine?
by hubert in's research russel's and rutherford's teachings once they are baptized?
if not, where in their material does it instruct them not to?
how far back are they "allowed" to research?

I could never understand this "gradually increasing light" doctrine since their new light usually does not in any way add to the old light so as to make it brighter, and often totally negates it.
Apparently being god's sole channel on earth is a very tricky business since the right info never seems to arrive into your head and you have to tuck around in circles ultimately getting nowhere.
One should expect upon reading the god inspired WTS doctrines to see their consistent development over time, instead we see them getting discarded one after another, after having seen many alterations to their content and then.... people should no longer know about them. It's the classic case of the spiritual charlatan. -

Secondly what is the service department, who make it up and how does it function? -

Awkward car situations.
by greendawn indid you ever have a serious problem while driving an awkward breakdown fire, or accident?
my worst was when i got an overheating problem on a night in the middle of nowhere.
it was the water pump, but by driving 20 miles at a time stopping to cool down and then restarting i got home.

I'll give one minor car problem: once as I was travelling in the night on vacation in Southern France, the head (major) lights stopped working. The coastal road was narrow and twisted and the small lights weren't much use but because the hotel was only about ten miles away I decided to carry on.
Fortunately no police saw us, in France they can be quite harsh for such safety violations and we reached the hotel just fine. Next day a car electrician changed some worn out wires. -

Dad (elder) called yesterday.
by Es inhi all.... i have not spoken nor seen my dad for about 3months now after he would not allow me to borrow cds for my up and coming wedding to a "worldy guy" because borrowing his cds means he would be supporting my mariage.
even tho the relationship between my mum and i is now strained as a result she still keeps in contact and suggested that we all meet at the shops one day for lunch so dad could see my son.
i agreed as i felt it would be nice for my son to see his pop again...but also was a little upset as dad hasnt gone out of his way to see my son.

A classic example of idiotic and bigoted behaviour and the affirmation of all that constitutes a cult.
If only these people were half as dumb as we imagine them to be.
Don't worry Es things will work out great. -

Disassociation = Disfellowshipment = The Final Insult (A Proposal)
by slimboyfat ini try to keep up with discussion on this forum, but i missed the threads about the new policy on the announcement of disfellowshipping and disassociation.
so excuse me if i am covering old ground.
the new "organized to do jehovah's will" book stated that in future announcements of disfellowshipping and disassociation would follow the same formulation: "****** ****** is no longer one of jehovah's witnesses".
-
greendawn
To them disassociation or disfellowshipping are nothing but the same political weapon, the desperate intention of which is to protect the leadership from hostile action, because its position is very weak across numerous teachings. Their credibility can very easily be damaged by objective criticism.
So If they don't shut off all contact between the JWs and their own critics they will soon fall to pieces because it doesn't take much to show that their ideas are totally moronic.

Would the W.T. be open for massive lawsuits if they changed blood policy?
by hubert ini was just thinking of this, because of my last post topic.
if the watchtower changed their no blood policy to accepting whole blood, would and could that .
open the flood gates for law suits from jdubs that sacrificed their children for the tower, or would .
-

I believe it is not a straight forward case that the WTS can not be held liable for JW deaths due to their blood policy. It's easy to say that they didn't force them to refuse transfusions but this is transparently false.
It was the WTS that stuffed their heads full with the ideas that drove them to over-ride the mighty will to live and choose a (needless)death and they certainly did pressure them into taking those fatal decisions. It's loathsome hypocrisy when they claim that they have nothing to do with those deaths. Simply if the WTS didn't exist all those deaths wouldn't occur.
I am sure they know that an able lawyer can most probably beat them in a case at court and get heavy compensations out of them and they are worried sick about it given the number of deaths involved. -
