The devious fraudster got some recompense as he painfully died of colon cancer when he was hoping to live for ever along with millions of other people.
The anti cross mentality of the JWs is part of their overall endevour to show that the early christians became apostates from a very early time (the mormons are also deeply into this)whereas this did not happen, not in what became mainstream christianity, until the time of Constantine and even then it was the bishops who lusted after power and glory that did it, not the rank and file.
Once a JW told me that it's a pagan custom to burn incense in church. Yet the Jews also burned it in their temple. The cross is a symbol of salvation to a christian not a phallic symbol.

WTBTS and the Cross
by Honesty in.
does anyone have any idea why the cross is such a stumbling block to the wtbs and the jehovah's witnesses?
1 corinthians 1:18 describes their belief system to a "t".

Congratulations Class of 2005
by Junction-Guy inwell my cousin graduated from high school yesterday and it was a very hard time for me as it just reminds me of all the opportunities i passed up, so please jehovah's witness children, go to college and get an education, dont waste your youth slaving away for the watchtower society.
you can be anything you want to be and go anywhere you want, but a good education is needed.
you dont have to suffer financially like i did for so many years.. .

Junction Guy what kind of ideas were there in circulation against education in those days and were all JWs prevented from having a university education?
I guess with this anti university stand the WTS caused a great deal of financial harm and hardship to many of their followers who were capable of further education. -

The fruit of knowledge story may well be an allegory for a more serious rebellion that occured in Eden.If the divine creation of the first human couple is a myth then we rely on evolution to explain human origins. Why all the shame for exposing publically the genital parts and the laws against nudism?
As for the Christian approach to women it is very humane also considering it was formulated in fairly primitive times, compare with the moslem views. -

Make sure I have a photograph with all the classmates to keep as a souvenir for the future with all names noted down carefully who is who in the photo. Also a book with their farewell comments, and signatures.

Internet access
by Phil ini am interested obtaining as much as i can regarding the wts and the method they use to stop members from using the internet.. my daughter is presently living, and appears committed for life to stay there at the paterson compound.
i have recently noticed her reluctance to use the internet as a communicating tool.
is there any documents that they have published that discourages, convinces or otherwise forces the members to refrain from using the internet.

I notice how those articles paint a very negative picture of the internet and almost totally ignore the many positive aspects of it.
The whole idea is to turn the JWs off from using the net so as not to come across the apostate websites. Another piece of subtle mamipulation. -

The kingdom elite?
by greendawn inconsider that the kingdom of heavens is after all a body of people (who originated from the earth) and who wield political power ie it is a body of rulers with a fixed number of members.
could the jws be right in saying that there will be this ruling body, and another class that of the ruled, even though it is certainly very wrong to believe that they will live on this earth for ever and not have jesus as their mediator and the annointing of the spirit.
were the two proposed classes (1. the elite of all the elite and 2. the elite), gathered in parallel throughout christian history rather than first one and then the other as the jws claim?

Narkissos thanks for the useful info, you have a broad knowledge basis.
Do you know BTW what major Christian religions eg the catholics consider the kingdom of heavens to be? Is it a state of the spirit or the heart? -

JWs required to report medical information to elders
by Elsewhere inthere was an article, i believe in the awake!, that talks about a hypothetical medical worker who in a hypothetical situation comes to find out that a jw has accepted a medical procedure that is not accepted by the wts.
this hypothetical worker must decide where or not she will report the hypothetical violation to the elders.
does anyone recall where i can find this article?

That's really impertinent meddling in other people's jobs like that, in their employment contract they signed to abiding by a certain ethical code of conduct and they have no right to violate it and act as the borg's underhanded informants.
Once more this cult shows how disgustingly intrusive and controlling over its members lives it is. Notice how they always bring up and misuse lots of biblical verses to sound valid, authoritative and intimidating. -

I'm telling lies from the stage
by DannyBloem ini recently gave a public talk, and i really felt bad about it.. it was the public talk about the great flood of noahs days.
the is so much evidence that this great deluge never happened, but that is something you can't tell the audience from the stage.
(i will tell about that evidence if people are interested, but it is a bit off-topic now).

As for them being the best religious organisation, you need to do some detailed research on them and before long you will realise how deceptive appearences can be.
There is plenty of good info about them on the internet. It is more likely that they are one of the worst because they lied extensively, destroyed many families, caused the death of many by banning blood transfusions, and are generally a very heartless and pitiless organisation.
