It's good to see that they have run out of ideas and how they keep serving repeatedly the old food. The fact that they have nothing new could be a sign that they will soon start falling apart. Insiration has apparently left them.

New Convention Publication All About Basic Doctrines
by minimus inmy mother told me today that she has recieved the new publication (i don't know the name of it yet) and it's all about knowing what basic doctrines jws believe in.
she told me this after she had said that she was being given it by a sister this afternoon.
i said, "if there's any new lite make sure you call me".

Generation of 1914 gone!

if they were born in 1900, they'd be 105 now and there are not many of these people left.. if they were born in 1914 they'd be 91 and there are not many of these left either.. can we say that the early light of russell and rutherford, and nathor knowrr is well and truly disproved?.
can we say it's just a matter of time before the new light is also disproved?.

I also agree, mankind has to shoulder much of the blame because they refused to accept and obey the gospel, if this had been done on a global scale then problems would have ceased long ago.
As for Armageddon no need to fear what fakes claim no matter how hard and persistently they shout out their prophecies. -

after sending the elders a letter (see http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/91796/1.ashx) we get a letter from elder s. that he understands that families are busy, can't be reached for short notice meetings, yada yada yada.
so they are setting another meeting for june 12. .

Eat your meat and don't bother asking if it originates from pagan sacrifices, what difference does it make? Otherwise you are stressing yourself out too much like the JWs who are so sensitive about all sorts of silly details.

You are heading in the wrong direction and doing things for sentimental reasons doesn't help objective thinking, check out the JW history in some detail before you commit yourself and examine carefully how they have been treating their own members.
Russell and Rutherford said and did a lot stupid things that are an embarassment to the JWs because they show their low down human nature and destroy the myth of the FDS whose heirs are supposedly the Governing Body of the JWs, it's a cult you are dealing with. -

our attendance was sporadic due to mom's opposition.
they knew our mom was lutheran and that she kept us from attending many meetings.

Welcome Krista it's great that you have vented your feelings because you can then work through them easier and get rid of the negative ones.
The WTS is a very insidious organisation with a lot of subtle negative and degrading energies so you should keep at a safe distance from it. -

A question for my UK cousins: What are the different British accents?
by Check_Your_Premises insince i have so many brits and uk types in one place, i was wondering if you all could classify or tell me the names of the different british accents.
i think most in the states could be grouped by region and then each region divided into regular folks and folks with cash.
for instance in thestates, you basically have north east which is can be characterized by your classic new york or boston accents.

The are some very colourful British accents such as the Geordie one spoken in Newcastle which is largely incomprehensible to outsiders.

How many early Christians?
by Jahna ini was wondering for about a week or so, if anyone has done any research on the number of early christians?
last week i looked up the number of anointed still on earth and in 1935 there were 52 465. using that number you have to assume that about 91 500 slots are left open for early christians, who the wt says were all anointed, and any others who still need to be found in the past, and or future.
if we can add up all of the numbers some how it would either be more, or less then the magic 144 000. what that number honestly is, i imagine would be quite telling about the doctrine regarding this magic 144 000. .

How can any JW be so naive so as to believe that in 1900 years there weren't more than 144 000 genuine christians.
It's also really cheeky how they try to put down the dignity of those early Christians to prove their silly point that God had to wait until the 20th century to fill up that number with JWS. -

It's amazing how legalistic they can be, they do like splitting hair and acting as if they are still labouring under the mosaic law. As Bas mentions there is always some blood left in meat after slaughter anyway.
