“We don’t even want to be in the company of unbelieving men or women.” that explains it all, they forget that many of these unbelieving individuals have done a lot of beneficial things for the JWs, constitutional rights, doctors, policemen, soldiers etc

He Said WHAT?!?
by MerryMagdalene inin millions now living will never die, rutherford, 2nd president of the wtbts, had this to say in regard to clergy and religion:
appeal to the clergyit is not my thought to hold up the clergy to ridicule, but rather would i appeal to them that they fulfil their duty and obligation to the people in this hour of distress.
i would remind them that the commission given to all followers of jesus is not to convert the world and bring them into some organized system.

Considering that Rutherford was a hypocrite that oppressed his followers and had a great life of luxury, better than any lowly priest could dream of.
By his inspiration the WTS is today a very tightly organised, hierarchical, and dictatorial religion just as any medieval pope would have it. -

Male or Female
by love2Bworldly ini have been reading over the forum today and something hit me.
because i don't look up everyone's histories, there are people i assumed were either male or female--partly based on their avatar and partly based on the type of comments they make.
well guess what folks--i was shocked to find out i was wrong about a few people.. does anyone else out there decide that certain posters are male or female, and then find out they're wrong?

Tijkmo I don't know how you got my gender wrong since I have the male sign under my avatar. Unless you thought earlier on I was a woman pretending to be a man.

Does the idea of a bodyless soul make sense? Could the 'soul' stay sane?
by IronGland inas i lay in my pod yesterday i began to think of the following.
in many religions-christianity, hinduism, and buddhism, as well as greek philosophy-attempts are made to mortify the body, to respond as little as often to it's carnal needs and what-not.
this is possible to be prepared for a new existence as just a disembodied soul, in some heavenly spirit realm or what-not.. .

Tetrapod this may not be according to an atheist's or evolutionist's understanding (I assumed the person that initiated this topic believes in the soul or angels)but I wrote those things on the basis that there are souls or angelic bodies which have to be made of something and that something is obviously not the same as the stuff making up the human physical body, since we can't see it or touch it.
Since this other unknown substance has never been detected and studied by science it is a mystery and there are still numerous mysteries about the nature of the substance (atoms, quarks etc) that we are made of. Atomic science has only scratched the surface of the atom. -

If you use a search engine like Google you can find lots of things about them on the "apostate" and other websites, use key words like "Charles Taze Russell" "Russell pyramids" and "Joseph Rutherford Watchtower".
Most of them are objective but you judge this as you gather the info from different sources. -

Fading away problems.
by greendawn inmany people decide to fade away from the org gradually so as not to have to suffer the sanctions of being disfellowshipped or disassociated and if all goes according to plan it works well.
.
are there any cases where things somehow went wrong and the objective to quietly leave failed, your one or that of other people?
-

Listener, you mention that now a fader has to declare himself a JW still, or else be thought of as disassosiated and thus shunned by the borg, but can't they just say "yes I am a JW" and still carry on fading? Do they have to become active JWs?

Changing the monotony of routine is in itself invigorating, the overworked and tired brain cells can rest and be refreshed. Good vacation.

The new light always appears at a time that is most convenient for the org and the GB eg there was new light that marked 1975 as the end and many people got manipulated into giving everything to jah's service. The new light is a tactic of manipulation and control.

Who knows what soul is, it has to be made of some kind of substance unlike the one we have in our bodies about which science knows absolutely nothing. Akin to spirit bodies.
