It was an illusion for sure, even if there was to be a paradise one would never get to it through the WTS and being in that org seems to be a sure way to lose it.

The JW new world system scum
by greendawn inwe now know that the new system of things as imagined by the jws is a myth, a poison that's meant to seduce the unaware into the org so that they can then be controlled, abused, and exploited.
but during the time when you were taken in by the myth what sort of things were you imagining about this delightful new world and your participation in it?
or perhaps deep down you never really believed it and ignored it.

Let's hope group E, the apostates, are a lot more than 1% despite all the brainwashing going on.

A a sect that's a brother to the JWs who don't go to quite the same extremes so as to appear more respectable but deep down they are just as ruthless.

Keep under the JW radar for as long as you can and if they do find out you should be glad that it became publicly known that you are not part of this destructive cult.

Proselytizing for the Borg
by Sith ini recently read a post written by a female jw who was obviously disenchanted with the wtbts.
she wrote about how she had been out in the door to door work recently because she had no excuse not to go, and how she had placed some magazines with a "householder".
it made me think about how just one small thing like placing wt literature with an innocent unknowing individual might eventually lead them into the watchtower trap.

I never was in that situation but I think they will most probably try to quietly sabotage any interest in the org. by that individual.

Did society go against Jehovah's will?
by TweetieBird infor decades it was always stressed (especially in one of the pubs that came out in the 70's, i think the one about the thousand years) that one of the signs of the beginning of the great tribulation would be when they started taxing religion.
in another thread we were directed to http://www.bibletopics.com/biblestudy/84a.htm about the society going to court to support jimmy swaggert.
it seems to me that maybe the society was running ahead of jehovah by doing so, and the organization started on a downward spiral since then, ultimately slapping jehovah in the face by going to bed with the un.

I think this religion, or sect more precisely, never had anything to do with the truth they always were deceitful and manipulative and the UN issue is just one of the many bad things they've been doing.
Their claim to be God's reps on earth is an amoral enough lie to damn them. Six million people that believe it to be true live under curse in spiritual darkness. -

Catholicism
by Chia ini went to a catholic church this weekend with my boyfriend.
he was raised catholic and was thinking about going back to church, but after the service decided that his belief system was now too different for him to attend services anymore.
as for myself, it stirred an unexpected reaction in me.

It sounds that you are of the type of people that need some spiritual activity, the Catholics are obviously not a sect but with all religions in my view you have to be careful.

What do you feel when you see groups of Jehovah's Witnesses on the street?
by nicolaou inregret, anger frustration?
how about sadness, sorrow, sympathy, understanding, even yearning!.
it can be quite confusing at times.

I feel pity for them because they are such dupes to work for a human big business organisation while thinking they work for and get credited by God.
Remember also the guilt trip: tell your neighbour about the org or else you are guilty of their blood. -

Is the Watchtower hurting financially?
by truthseeker inwhile surfing e-watchman's paradise forum, i clicked on one of the topics i never go to, "our meetings & assemblies" and found an interesting post on the wt bleeding financially.. it was posted 3 months ago.. http://e-jehovahs-witnesses.com/viewtopic.php?t=2888&postdays=0&postorder=asc&&start=0.
in my neck of the woods (which shall remain anonymous) the do and co have been circulating the rumour that the watchtower society is in financial straights and is being bled dry.
this must be very pressing.

If they have indeed so many assets as people say in New York alone, never mind the rest of the world, it's hard to see how they can be in trouble they could always liquidate them to get cash in an emergency. They could also wind down their operations to save.

Why the term "publisher"?
by Gander indoes anyone know why the term "publisher" was chosen to describe an individual that goes from door-to-door preaching about the bible as a jehovah's witness?
was this term always used?
it certainly makes the focus of the work to be aimed towards literature distribution over anything else.

It does make them sound like a business and that's indeed what they are, a business trying to behave like a religion. This explains many of their behavioural patterns such as intolerence to all criticism and refusing to accept any of the annointed in the inner circle of the GB. It's a business and no outside JWs should meddle in it or try to undermine it.
