The incredible thing will be having people like the JWs around in a paradise, but I think they got their overall concept of it wrong there will be new bodies that will not need food to survive.

Problems in paradise
by gringojj ini know there are a ton of problems with the idea of paradise.
i was just thinking about how much sense it doesnt make.
for example how is it supposed to work as far as housing arrangements?

Passing the time.
by Low-Key Lysmith ini used to come up with all kinds of things to do to pass the time during meetings and especially conventions.
i would resort to counting ceiling tiles sometimes or go over movies in my head line for line.
what did y'all do to beat the doldrum?

As we always had the Bible there I would read passages from it that I found interesting and ignore all the boring things going on.

Spirit Directed
by Smiles_Smiles in.
and i just wanted to know if i am the only one that felt that 'spirit' led them into the jw and the same 'spirit' led them out of jws???
a bit confused but loveing every minute of the peace,.

I believe any spirit, enticing people into the WTS has to be demonic an angel of Satan appearing as an angel of light apppearing to be the genuine thing but on closer examination is found to be deceitful.
Likely it's the Holy Spirit that leads people out of such an org by helping them see the subtle lies and the manipulation going on. -

Are you now BEARDED or BEARDLESS????
by zagor injust wondering how many are now wearing beard and what's the main reason for it.
rebellion perhaps?.
i just love my new goat beard and moustache.

I always grew a beard but I keep trimmed down to a short size, even in my JW days had it and nobody objected, in the USA apparently they are strict about it, but I can't imagine why they hate beards so much. It's another symptom of cultic control psychology I suppose.

It's bad enough that they have to knock on people's doors to pester them with their FDS non sense.

List of things banned to JWs
by AllAlongTheWatchtower inmy wife is involved with jws, and i want to find out what they believe, things they do or will not do, that i can present to her in the hope that it will convince her that the jw lifestyle is not for her.
i found out a few things already, like blood and yoga which i told her about, but she was unphased.
("i've never needed a transfusion before anyway, and besides, they told me that doctors have blood substitute now".

With so many restrictions often very silly and not found in normal people and orgs, we are left with no doubt that the WTS is a cult, that's deeply into a works oriented salvation.

Serious or casual relationships?
by greendawn inwhat do you believe is better, the traditional serious marriage attitude of total and permanent commitment or the lighter and more casual approach to relationships?
-
greendawn
It's correcct that the more casual approach goes with immaturity and in my view it doesn't work very well in the long run.
By the way is that a Cabernet Sauvignon that you enjoy? One of the E & J Gallo wines which are well known in the UK? -

UN Question
by kilroy2 ini was thinking about the society being involved in the un, and then thought that they preached that the un was going to destroy all religion [nondubber] soon.
so when they got involved in the un do you think it was because they know that they are full of shit?
or do they justify their bull shit by some nonsensical reasoning?

I don't think that the GB are not aware of their numerous erroneous beliefs and actions but they just pretend to be unaware. They are clearly not stupid so they must know how wayward they are but won't admit to themselves. It's the classic example of hypocrisy.
