Well I went to the Prince concert this time around with some of my JW "friends". There was a whole row of us. After one of Princes solos, one of my pals (a sister 10 years older than myself) turns to me and says "just think we'll be playing with him in paradise". After she said that all i wished was that I was sitting anywhere but there in that row. I thought to myself "why am I around these freaks?" I felt like saying "your #*%*ing nuts". I had some interesting thoughts though while I was at that concert. The concert took place in the coliseum where we normally have our circuit conventions. It was odd but I almost felt like I was at an assembly. I could see Prince wearing a suit (albeit a small one) standing at the podium delivering the talk. The people at the concert were all well behaved too. Oddly enough it didn't feel like I was at a Prince concert. It felt more like an assembly with good music and an awesome light show. Prince came out wearing a white outfit. I suppose now he's pure. As for the concert, it wasn't as good as I thought it would be. I'm not sure even if he did it his old way (with dirty lyrics and dirty costumes) if I would have liked it. Don't get me wrong, he's an awesome musician but I've seen better performances. As I looked out over the audience in attendance, I thought to myself " how could I have thought that all these people would be destroyed".

I'm new, Hello everybody !!!

Anti-gravity devices mentioned in Golden AGE

Yea, I've heard of the same thing. I believe it was a response to how one could never die in the new system even if they fell off a cliff or something.

I can see that happening DocBob. I think this SPECIAL talk was touching on the jw bans going on in Russia aside from(disobedience leads to destruction). If my mother actually did some research, as jws say they encourage she would probably find many religions that are under some sort of similiar ban in that area. A rational person would then be able to conclude that 'satan' doesn't just have it in for jws. but then again most of jw obedience is emotional not intellectual.

SPECIAL thanks agent and blondie !!!! Agent thats exactly how I feel a lot of the time. Your right you can't reason with them. Thats why I don't want to get into a discussion with my mother about my views. I'd just be wasting my breath.{You can't be told what the matrix is, you have to see it for yourself} How can you understand something you've never seen. They can't understand a life away from the org. it simly doesn't register. This is all she knows. Witnesses are programmed to see things one way.

Well she calls up today (sunday after about lunchtime) and immediately begins asking 'where were you yesterday, I tried to call you 5 times?' Could it be she was calling her son to ask how he was doing, why he doesn't call her enough, things every mother complains about. No, she wanted to tell me there was a SPECIAL talk on sunday. !!! Now this religion is really starting to piss me off. !!! So I asked her (kindly), what was it about? I know what its going to be about. "Doom and gloom, jw bannings and how jehovah will soon wipe out that evil satan and any who joins his side" Obviosly, the organization must have really turned up the old 'guilt level' on that talk for her to call with such concern. those bastards. They really piss me off.
Now my mother bless her heart is a really good person. Shes just infected with this disease called Jehovahs witnesses. I know shes doing what she thinks is right. I don't think she'll ever be able to handle what I have to say. That is ' !The witnesses are full of shit and I wish I wasn't raised one'. She would probably have to take a trip to the crazy house if I said it like that. This whole situation sucks! Sucks! Sucks! Sucks!

Ok I'm back!!! Thanks for all the responses. Another question: how many of you were raised in/around the organization and at the same time knew it was a complete fonny. I ask that b/c it seems that some people just never get the fear (disobedience leads to destruction) put in them.

Hi everyone, glad to be here. I've been to and posted at a couple of other ex-jw sites. Thought I'd drop a line to you guys. Long story short, I'm trying to do the fade. It's been about 3 months since I attended a meeting. Hopefully I can continue dodging the borg. I'm currently trying to reprogram my mind and at times it's a bit frustrating. I've heard some on here say that you have to "try to see through the eyes of a child". I don't know if its just years of jw brainwashing but when I try to my guard just instinctively goes up. Can anyone offer some advice and maybe some personal experiences?
