  ExJw And Abortions

  we all know the jw view of abortion before leaving but what about now?

  how have your views changed?

  i used to secretly cheer when i heard that women had gained more rights concerning abortions.

  Again...every man and women decide for themselves. No government should intervene, no matter what the decision is. My wife is unable to have children, (her body aborts all fetus') yet I still am a leaner-towards the man and woman coming to a decision on their own future. If it's abortion, so be it. But, it should be as early as possible...anything later is irresponsible and sick. Whether it is murder or not...every man and woman has to decide if it is or not, and live with the consequences, or relief involved.

  I myself would never choose abortion; neither would my wife. But never would I presume to tell people what to think, say or do. This is no ones business but the parents'. As for teenage-minor pregnancies, I believe the parents should have the say. It's dangerous to trust someone so young to judge what is best for them.

  if i were to be the illustration of the prodigal son, after campaigning for your organisation to change its policies on a few major issues, something that by now the uk branch doesn't seem to like, or appreciate me all that much for.

  what would be your immediate welcomeing reception for me?

  I support the 'morning after pill'. I think that the first month isn't morally wrong to abort a fetus, but after that, I start to get bothered by it. Don't know why.

  But, any person who ignorantly screams one way or the other are idiots. One side says "Poo on you!", and the other side says, "poo on you too!"

  Both sides have sound arguments. But the legality of it should remain the decision of the couple. Every person has to live with their decisions-one way or the other.

  FARTING at the meetings

  i'm sure you all have some good comical stories of pple farting during prayer or other quiet times during meeting.

  as a personal experience of mine, the night before i had eaten a frozen pizza, doritos, and some old chocolate milk.

  this combination produced the worst smelling brew i have ever had.

  The one I remember is a sweet old gentlemen who used to come with his family (I guess because they wouldn't pay attention to him any other time). Well, during the last prayer, an old, softspoken brother took the stand. The prayer was almost unintelligible. Well, the fella next to me starts to make little grunts and squeals. He started rocking side to side on his heels. Then he releases a putter.
  Continuing to rock side to side, he squeals again. Another putter. People around the hall are looking now.

  I started to choke on my tounge.

  The old guy farts again and started mumbling ,"oh my, oh my" with each putt. I was near death. I wanted to throw myself on the ground and laugh for hours.

  And the mumbling prayer just kept on going. A real marathon prayer.

  Finally, the guy next to me says, "Oh no!" in a horrified whisper, and a gigantic fart escaped his wrinkled cheeks!!! I started laughing out loud and loudly. I laughed until I cried. I never was forgiven by people for that meeting.

  It's a shame because the old guy crapped himself, I think.

  DA or not DA or continue slipping away ?

  for weeks now, i've been trying to put together a disassociation letter - incidently, it's you lot that have put me up to this - and it's nearing completion but i'm feeling nervous about sending it.

  the fast approaching christmas celebration thingymajig is kinda egging me on as i want to blaze christmas lights everywhere and not feel nervous about the possibility of a visit from the po who drops the mags in to me fortnightly (i'm generally 'not in' ... ahem ...).

  i would appreciate your for's and against's - to either convince me to go ahead, or to think again and stay the execution ...

  Slip away many, I'm doing the same thing, and it's not too bad. Just keep it up until they really piss you off. Then DA yourself when there's no other alternative.

  Part 4. Illustrated!

  ....i decided to make a stand.

  i went into the kitchen, picked up a large carving knife, and walked out into the front garden...... .

  my intention was to cut back the growth from the previous spring's daffodils, but there was a little part of me that was hoping to put the wind up 'em, if only for a fleeting second before they realised that i was just cutting back flower growth.

  sean went to mass with me again on sunday.

  he knelt during the consecration of eucharist and said the lord's prayer with us.

  does this make him an automatic da?.

  NO. Not unless he wants to of course. DF is another matter. Only if some JW saw him walking out of mass on a sunday would it pose a prob.

  Poetry JW style. Yuk!

  here is an example of what passes for thought provoking poetry among the dubs.

  (try not to hurl).... of all my years as a witness, the times were not always good.. too many mistakes were being made, the brothers not doing what they should.. as i look back now there are times, i can recall, when i did not even look forward to going to the kingdom hall.. the brothers showed no love.. they didn't seem to care.. the elders were unyielding, demanding and unfair.. meetings were dull and boring; field service was a chore.. there wasn't much of a "pioneer spirit,".

  while going from door to door.. it would not get any better, as i hoped it would.. i knew the day was coming when i would leave jehovah's house for good.. but happily, it's so different now, jehovah has been so kind.. he has allowed me a wonderful congregation to find.. the spirit is so strong here.. the brothers really care.. i couldn't be more happy if i were anywhere!.

  kent had an interesting point:.

  i'd say a girl would go for a man - and then i mean someone who isn't scared shitless by a girl with brains!.

  I'm afraid of you...please don't beat me:).

  Seriously, though, my wife has asked me the same thing. I always tell her that it's just remenants of their upbringing. I myself had a very assertive mother, so being married an assertive female is not very strange to me.

  But, some men who had wishy-washy mothers consider all women to be frail, and those who aren't 'bitches'.

  That's what I suppos some men think.
