I'm torn between laughing and feeling awful for that poor little boy, because what if one his schoolmates sees it? He looks like he's got enough problems already.

Random Act of Kindness
by cruzanheart inlast year, as many of you know, my dad committed suicide.
a couple of months after his death, i was in our local petsmart and started talking to a really cool dog trainer.
he was bright, loved animals, and had one of his dogs with him (who obviously adored him and did everything he asked).

Turn away from these wicked ways!
by Proud Witness inwell as you would have guessed from my name, i am a proud witness and i feel obliged to preach to you about the promises that our wonderful creator, jehovah god, has promised each and every one of us, of any race or background.
i know that you already know what he has told us through his word, but i am curious to wonder why you have chosen to jump off the narrow road which leads to everlasting life.
is it because you have had a bad experience in god's organization?

Wicked apostates shall receive the ultimate destruction at Armageddon
This is interesting because when I asked over on Beliefnet JW debate board, where quite a few JWs post, whether you all still believe apostates are going to be killed at Armageddon, they didn't want to own up at all. They kept insisting that only Jehovah knows who is going to be killed at Armageddon. I guess maybe they just didn't want to be rude? So I'm glad to finally get a straight answer about this. You confirm that JWs still think everyone who doesn't agree with them will be destroyed, and the sooner the better. I've always wondered how JWs could believe that and call themselves pacifists. I've also wondered how you reconcile the loving kindness you're supposed to show everyone with teaching little kids that all their unbelieving relatives, including grandparents and sometimes parents, could be taken from them any day now. A lot of people would call that child abuse.

Monty Python
by LittleToe ini was recently reminded of john cleese's [in]famous eulogy of graham chapman.. personally i think it was perhaps the funniest, albeit most shocking, thing that he's ever done.. i offer it for your perusal:.
"graham chapman, co-author of the "parrot sketch", is no more.
he has ceased to be, bereft of life, he rests in peace, he has kicked the bucket, hopped the twig, bit the dust, snuffed it, breathed his last, and gone to meet the great head of light entertainmant in the sky, and i guess that we're all thinking how sad it is that a man of such talent, such capability and kindness, of such unusual intelligence should now be so suddenly spirited away at the age of only forty-eight, before he'd achieved many of the things of which he was capable, and before he'd had enough fun.

Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, they were fantastic too. The one legged man applying for the role of Tarzan. "I have nothing against your remaining leg, the problem is, neither have you". I heard that Peter Cook (who did get really eccentric later on) used to do these like raids on radio stations, take over the mike and anonymously start making his usual brand of chaos over the airwaves. God, I wished I'd ever caught one of those broadcasts.

New Age Jehovah's Witness Youth
by Obviously Secret ini'm new to the forums so i just wanted to say hi.
kind of nervous at the moment.. i'm one of the jehovah's witness kids that is looking for the whole truth.
i go to the meetings and have my own problems with the organization but i do believe in alot of it's beliefs.. since i got that out the way i wanted to see what other people think about the newer jehovah's witness teens.

Obviously secret
You're smart and you have a great sense of humour, and you're going to make lots of friends, and it's all going to be okay in the end. Welcome to the board, I think you're a great addition.

What happened to me?
by boa ina few years ago....before i went to bethel....i was very troubled in mind and heart and quite fervently prayed to jehovah asking for help.....i really really poured my heart out when all of a sudden...... i went completely catatonic (i was lying down in bed on my back).
i was still concious, but i felt like i was no longer a part of my body and in fact don't think i could've moved if i'd tried to.....it was very strange and i believe its only happened once since then (while during a heartfelt prayer).
has this happened to any of you?.

Robert Monroe has an interesting book on out of body experiences too. I've never had one but I don't think I'd want one, I'm too much of a control freak.
special K
That's interesting about the lucid dreams, I go through periods when I have lots but I haven't had any for a while. I love them, they are very energising.

Such a pity you don't have anyone to count your eyeblinks Frannie Bananie because that sounds like a sure-fire method for winning to me.

Einstein Theory of Relativity
by VM44 inlong ago, in 1969, awake!
published the one and only article they ever published about einstein's theory of relativity.. einstein's theory is in the news now as the gravity probe b has recently been launched in order to measure the "frame dragging" predicted by general relativity theory as the probe orbits the earth.. if i remember correctly the 1969 awake article questioned whether einstein's theory was correct.
i doubt very much that there was anyone then, or even now, at bethel who was even remotely qualified to question einstein's theory, but, then again, lack of qualifications hasn't ever held the wt back from writing articles.. the wt library cds only have awakes going back to 1970, so i will have to find a bound volume if i want to read that article again.. anyone else here interested in einstein's theory of gravitation?.

Whoops, LOL, newborn heads should have come under smells, not sounds. The sound of a newborn head is not likely to bring joy to many.
