Good advice fanny
As my sister always says, take my advice, I'm not using it.
i am going to embark on an adventure of dating outside of the jw's, i am currently fading so worried people will see me, but so be it.
i have some apprehension just because of all the negetive conitations that exist with worldly people, afraid i will never meet someone outside the organization that could meet my needs.
but i am taking a leap of faith and seeing what will happen.

ive been logging on to the website for awhile but have only been reading.today ive decided to extend my hello to all of you and to thank you for helping me out in confirming a decison i shouldve made years ago.
i left the j-dubs last august (by fading) and i feel so much happier in my life.
i can say bless you when someone sneezes, i can go to a birthday party, put a x-mas tree up, and have sex guilt free .
Welcome bettyboop
Does anyone think they'll take the forthcoming disappearance of power as the "tribulation"?
They'll probably take it as the Tribulation. But I was in 30 years ago and they were constantly pointing at stuff as the Tribulation then. There will always be a Tribulation for the JWs, it would be awfully boring otherwise.

Hi nemo, I love your avatar. Well, I never exactly dated while in, because I was young, but the JW boys I knew seemed to be a shifty, sneaky, conniving bunch who would say anything to get a little fondle and then blame the girls for it. I must say that I have not found Worldly men to be a bunch of bastards, and how come it's all the men on the board who are saying that? You know what a bunch of sweet little bunnies you are. Okay, you think about sex every 17 seconds (on average, which means some of you are thinking about it way more often than that) but what's wrong with that? Anyway, nemo, I think you'll have fun. Just don't be too polite. JW women learn to smile and be submissive and that can get you in trouble on the dating scene. Being raised a JW I just didn't have the words "no", "absolutely not" and "I don't feel like it" in my vocabulary, and I had to learn the hard way.
there are so many good candidates - i can't decide which i like best between tim mcgraw's "everywhere", and survivor's "the search is over".
anyone else have any nominations?
tim mcgraw .
Jesus Christ on a popsickle stick, Chevysntats, who wrote that?

first gay couples wed in us state
two lesbians were among the first same-sex couples to wed under a new law in the us state of massachusetts.
So I resist the entitlements that affect all of us as taxpayers.
I don't understand how this affects people as taxpayers. If children need financial support from the government what difference can it possibly make if the parents are married or not? Won't they need the support either way?
I don't think it can be real. There's just no way for people not to know about sex. I mean they'd have BOTH have to been raised in complete isolation from other children, and Germany doesn't have home schooling. But I did actually personally know a woman once (although not well) who didn't know she was pregnant till she went to hospital with a stomach ache and had a baby. Very strange.

scroll down to mindy klienberg.
her quesitons are very concise, non-partisan, yet the commission cant seem to answer them.. basically, the commission wants to pin the blame on nypd and nyfd.
Soledad, thank you for posting the link. I couldn't find Mindy Kleinberg with a quick scan, so I'm going to try to read the whole thing (!) and come back to comment on this thread.
i'm no way anti usa as some here have the custom ;) but can anyone explain the reason for this new book?

if you have been to university would you agree with this author?.
Euphemism
But did she claim that "studies had proven" it? That was my point. I've certainly known feminist professors who believed that marriage was a form of patriarchal oppression! Just not any who were off-their-rocker enough to suggest that the claim could somehow be proven with an empirical study.
Yes, you're quite right, I didn't read your post properly. Got too excited about my own point! I can't remember what all she claimed, I didn't pay too much attention. I can't imagine how a study could prove that, anyway, and I doubt that an academic would keep her job that long if she asserted such nonsense.
A quote from Anne Coulter:
"When contemplating college liberals, you really regret once again that John Walker is not getting the death penalty. We need to execute people like John Walker in order to physically intimidate liberals, by making them realize that they can be killed, too. Otherwise, they will turn out to be outright traitors."
i find it quite interesting that, due to minimus' thread about "the end", there were a lot of comments about 1975. everybody who made comments about it here didn't seem very bothered by the fact that they had such high hopes for the year and were let down by yet another false jw prediction.
yet the borg chastises and condemns as being arrogant those same people who may have drifted away because of it.
to me, that says a lot about how, even subconsciously, great it must be to be out of that high control organization.
But it's just funny, if the WBTS didn't specify the date officially, how come we ALL know that date, all of us who lived through time? Mention 1975 to any JW who was alive and a JW then, they know the date. If it was only a rumour, it wasn't just a local one. And the head office didn't do anything to discourage it, that's for sure. But the WBTS does tend to operate in that shifty, slippery way, so that later they can wriggle out of things later. That alone tells me how cynical they really are about the whole thing.
all flesh is green grass , and all their loving-kindness is like the blossom of the field.
the green grass has dried up, the blossom has withered, because the very spirit of jehovah has blown upon it.
surely the people are green grass.
I think it's rather beautiful, very poetic. I don't like the stuff about vengeance though, why does this idea of god coming always have to include vengeance? It's petty and childish. "My daddy's coming and he's gonna whip your ass." It spoils the beauty of it a little.
