What a long show!
I thought all the awards were well deserved although I was alittle disappointed that Eddie Murphy didn't win.
I was very happy for Forest Whittaker, if you haven't seen the movie rent it on DVD. Its pretty intense.
academy awards -----------.
the accounting firm of pricewaterhousecoopers alone knows the names of the winners until the envelopes are opened on the air.. best actress in a supporting role: jennifer hudson - "dream girls".
best actor in a supporting role: alan arkin - "little miss sunshine".

I know of someone who was 12 and they voided his baptism.(He was only 10 when he got baptized)
He became a marked person.
This was in the early 70's.
as many of you know, audesapere (denise) had reconstructive knee surgery last wednesday.
the surgery ended up being quite a bit more involved then she originally anticipated.
she has approximately 5 more weeks walking with crutches and then i believe she will continue with physical therapy.. denise made it through the first several days post-op like a trooper!
Get better Denise.
You can't bar hop around NJ unless your knee gets better
hi guys and girls, .
something came to me whilst i was cleaning this morning.
i was thinking about the jw tradition of disfellowshipping those who seek a 'worldly divorce' .
Although they will try to talk you out of getting a "worldly Divorce" they can not D\F you for this unless someone committs adultrey.
What I have seen happen is that if someone has sex after the divorce and it is not connected to the failed marriage, some congos will just privately reprove the person, especially if you are going to get married, and especially if you were perceived in the congo as the injured party in the original marriage.
It also doesn't hurt if your family is held in high esteem in the circuit.
i've been thinking about this a lot, because i've chosen to fade and i would never refer to myself as a jdub, but i've read postings from others who do.
i would have written a letter a year ago but i've got older parents who are upset enough about me just not attending.
on another thread someone is also leaving and they were advised to tell the jc to do whatever, to not acknowledge that they have any authority.
My standard line. "I was raised around a lot of Jahba witlesses, so I know a lot about their teachings."
That's it.
i was just going through my cds and unapcking them and noticed that i have way more film scores than anything else.. particular favourites have to be:.
1) the mission - ennio morricone - beautiful and moving.
2) hannibal - hans zimmer - haunting and with a stunning opera piece which i love.
Some of my favorites were already mentioned, but I also like Platoon, and The Prince of Tides.
i've been fading for about 6 months now and a couple of witnesses in my old congregation have died.
a smidget of me wanted to go for the sentimental reasons.
but i knew i wouldnt be able to handle the 'lovebombing', the questioning and a restart on harassment by the elders.
I have attended a few, it depends on how close I was to them when I drank the Kool Aid.
One grow up with me like a brother.
One was the parent of a very good friend who treated me like a son, and she never stopped speaking to me.
One was the father of another faded friend and I when to morally support her because I knew there were those in her family'scircle that objected to her attending. I basically played line backer for her.
One I didn't attend because the family refused to invite 2 of their disfellowshipped kids. Since I have only faded, I just felt it would be hypercritical for me to attend.
especially if you were raised as a dub like me, well i was called a muslim, holy joe, a jahoodsoon, all seems funny now but torture when you was the only dub in the whole school.
Bible Boy.
Instead of saying " Is he a witness?" my Dad would say"Is he in the Witness Unprotection Program?"
It used to drive my Mom crazy.
on sundays episode the camera panned past a man who had beeen crucified.
i noticed that he was on a pole, and not a cross.
is that because christianity had not been introduced yet?
No I am not surprised, just interesting.

I noticed that as well. I also thought they showed a woman on a pole as well.
I think the series is great, but I read somewhere that these are the last 12 episodes, apparently it is very expensive to produce.
I am sure that it is heavily fictionalized, but its interesting to see crooked politics, useless wars and rampant crime has been going on for centuries.
Appartently we have learned nothing from the past. we just repeat it.
