  New dub scam

  someone tell me if i'm making an ass out of myself and posting something that has already been discussed here and i missed it.....k ?.

  anyway.....the dubbers have a new deal goin on at least in my neighborhood.

  my wife had briefly mentioned some of it to me a few days ago, but i heard it firsthand working the other day where the dubs were working some apartments.. the dubs go door to door and say they are volunteers for the deaf community and are searching for people who are deaf.

  sometime ago, the government of france came closest, of any nation on earth, to official recognition of ufo reality.. they commissioned a study ( the "cometa report") by their best military and scientific people and concluded that.

  the extraterrestrial explanation is the most likely.

  they also complained that the us seemed to be holding the subject back.. some belgian/nato types had very vocal complaints, years back, about the "black triangle" incident being ignored,.

  Collecting magazines ???

  when i was in jw land, i used to like keeping a copy of each magazine, i did this for years, then one day my mom found them in my closet, and chewed me out for keeping them ( ???????

  go figure).

  she said magazines were for placing not keeping, do you know how much money you wasted, i might of been 13 or so at the time, i never forgot that experience.. anyone else have similar experiences regarding literature ??

  We once lived in a congregation territory where the elders refused to allow us more than one copy of any publication (us = my rather large family). They said it was wasteful. I said since I was donating for it (and before that arrangement had paid a fixed price for each item) that it was up to me how many items I had.

  One Sunday two elders came over to discuss the matter with us. I tactfully brought up a point from a magazine. They asked to see it. I handed them the bound volume and then motioned for all the family members to crowd around them in order to see the material. One of the elders asked what was going on and I told him that if we didn't have one copy each, that is what we would have to do in order to study.

  They got the point but still wouldn't order literature for us. We moved.

  Racism has nothing to do with it, imo.

  When the name of a street gets changed there is stationery to change (this costs!), all the businesses have to change their advertising (this costs!), all the maps have to be changed (this costs!) and I don't mean just locally. Suppose I bought a copy of the Rand-McNalley map last week and now they've gone and changed the name of the street? How will I find your house? How will 911 find you? (It costs to make changes in the system!)

  Who is going to foot the bill for all these changes? Who will see that it is all done? Not that little lady who wants to honor her hero. She isn't thinking past her own little life.

  It's easy to cry "racism!". It takes at least half a functional brain to recognize when to leave well enough alone.

  FORMER ELDERS CAN YOU PLEASE HELP??

  hello, i am writing because i was disfellowshipped a week and a half ago.

  i have not been to the meeting in over two and a half years.

  you would think they would leave me alone.

  If the elders in this situation did not follow procedure then you have grounds to appeal the disfellowshipping. Write a letter to that body of elders saying just that, you want to appeal the disfellowshipping on the grounds that procedure was not followed in your case. Don't say anything else! Don't give them ANY explanations about your thoughts or your life. This is the time to keep silent!!!

  No doubt they will be in contact with you. Keep EVERYTHING to yourself. Watch how you answer whatever they ask. Basically all you have to do now is speak enough answer them if they offer you a hearing. If they do there will be TWO sets of elders there. The first set will be the ones who DF'd you. The second set will be there NOT FOR YOU...remember that....they are there to see if the first set followed procedure or not.

  Remember to keep silent. You don't need to defend yourself at all! The appeal has nothing to do with you, it's about the elders who DF'd you and whether they did it according to the book. Since you weren't there when they did it you have absolutely no need to talk. Don't tell them ANYTHING.

  Be really careful. The call you made to Brooklyn is on record. The guy either recorded it or took notes. THAT MAKES HIM WITNESS NUMBER ONE. Dont' speak. Don't make anyone Witness Number Two....to anything!

  Don't call Brooklyn again. Don't complain to your friends. Don't even say too much on this board. Keep all the words to yourself. We are all here and a lot of us know what kind of pain you are in, so we don't need to hear the all the personal details to help you through.

  Tough it out, it looks from your post like you are in a good position to WIN.

  P.S. A lawsuit against the Society might be pointless....but a civil suit against the individual elders for slandering your name might work.

  my mother told me that the co gave a talk on how a spider spins his web and it can take a very long time for the web to be made but just like that--- before you know it---it can catch its prey and devour it.

  it's the same with the world wide web, the internet.

  there are reports, according to the co, that in new york, a very prominent "anointed" man was disfellowshipped and he has his owm website where he has answered many jws questions.
