During the assembly did you ever notice ... ???
by The_Replacement ingrowing up as a kid in the 70's (and early 80's), did you ever notice at the assembly that there was always someone who had a tape recorder on stage and was taping the whole assembly.
are these tapes around today, generally i would love to hear some talks that were given before 1975 and see how many brothers said something big was going to happen, because we all know the watchtower never said that !!!
(yeah right).. any websites that might have a few of these or other interesting topics ???.

Back in the '70's and '80's it was standard procedure for the brothers in charge to tape each Circuit Assembly at the Assembly Hall in Woodland Hills, California. The tapes were stored at the Assembly Hall. If someone wanted a copy of the tapes all it took was a $10 payment.
I don't know how long these tapes are/were kept. It might be worth a call to an Assembly Hall to find out whether this was standard practice at all Assembly Halls or peculiar to Woodland Hills (which, btw, was sold a few years ago).

Do you think that my college professor is a "racist"?

my geography professor is a young caucasian man in his mid 30's.
he is very knowlegable about the other countries in the world but he always seem to make negative statements about blacks, hispanics, asians and native americans.

This is the sort of situation that separates the losers from the survivors in "real life". There are the people who get sidetracked and the people who recognize the jackass for what he is...and keep moving.
Do you think you are the first or only person to be offended by this guy? But he still has his position, doesn't he? Do you think you *really* know what you're up against?
Think twice...and make the decision that will benefit YOU. Then go out there and do better with your own life.

my husband and his mother invited me to their memorial and i asked my hubby that he should come with me to easter sunday mass.
he told me that he couldn't go b/c he took an oath.. come easter sunday, my husband did not, i repeat, did not, come with me and my family to mass.their functions, i will not go!!

What are you so upset about? He told you in advance he wasn't going to go, didn't he? What you did after that was your own decision.

My Wife Just Called Me...
by XJW4EVR inshe found an envelope with my name and "personal & confidential" typed on it taped to the door of our apartment.
i asked her to open it and read it, and evidently there is some evidence of apostacy that they want to review with me this saturday (4-21-06) at 7:30 pm.. the funny thing is that i have not been to a meeting since 1993, the last time i was at a circuit assembly or district convention was 1995!
i know that i have been spotted going to my church (3 blocks from the king-dumb hell).

If all you want to do is have fun, photocopy the letter (minus your personal information), put it in an envelope marked just the same as yours was, and tape the whole deal to every single door in your building. Sit back and watch the fur fly!

weird comment from a MS to me....
by ?me? ina few weeks ago we were cleaning the hall and one of the ministerial servants that is in my cbs made what i thought was a weird comment to me.......... what is your take?
" so he repeats "thanks for your help" ok,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, he was not even in charge of the cleaning(we all know what needs to be done), actually no one was, but the bs overseer was there and helping also.
so i quip back "oh ok,yeah, and thanks for your help mr. young ms" maybe i am taking it the wrong way but it wasn't even his assignment to get done, it was the whole bookstudy's and then it was the elders job to make sure we did not screw it up.............................me ...................................................sorry , having trouble with the formatting... .

It may be that he meant 'thanks for your help because if you had not appeared I would have had more work assigned to me!'.
He may have been sincere. I would be on guard, though....but that's just me!
