kls, you made me laugh pretty hard. It's difficult to pretend like I'm on official business at work, on the computer, when I read stuff like that!

Your pup is welcome any time. I've got rabbit proof fences around anything I care about. Little Mr. (my pooch) doesn't have the inclination to dig or shred much. I'm not so sure he's really dog at all. Maybe a combination pig-cat.

Anyway, I'm sure all the yellow spots in your lawn highly accentuate the long green grass growing around them, with all this spring rain we've been having.

i saw my family this past weekend while visiting my home state for a few days.

its almost comical at this point how terrified my own siblings are of me.

like they cant even look me in the eye when they talk ....its so sad.

Flower, you are a great mom. I'm so glad that the world's cutest kid got you for a mama. I'm sure you'll be teaching him how to truely love and accept people. Whether or not you're religious, christian, etc, there is a great moral story to take from the scriptures. Having been raised a witness I know you know what I'm talking about.

Isn't it a bit ironic though, that the world's cutest kid's mom, and the world's cutest puppy's mom, ended up on the same forum?? Hmmmm. Divine intervention?

Bavman, I'm from the Madison area. I haven't been to meetings or conventions in a few years now. But I'll answer what ever questions you'd like.

Evesapple, which congregation did you go to? My uncle was an elder at Creston Park until recently. He had to step down because of my very very naughty cousin. He he. Don't you get a guilty pleasure out of seeing some of the holier than thou's humbled?

yes yes, ladies and gents, i was a'walking and a'talking mighty strong, but it turns out that old age is a'bitin me in the arse.. well, i went down to the navy recruiter.

i'm not eligible for joining the navy for two reasons:.

1) i have been on antidepressants.

hello every body,.

i'd like to introduce myself, i hope you will well understand me (indeed, iam a 23 yeas old french girl).. i am very happy to see that several personn has lived the seam experience has me so they are abble to understand better what i feel and who can help us to live better ans follow our way forward life(i hope you will understand what i mean).. i was born in a jw's family, and when i got 12 i begin to ask me some question and have some doubts about this ''thruth".. when i begin to have my boyfriend (not jw) i had to lie...we stayed 4 year together but i never had sexual relation because i was affraid of consequency (even if i was not baptized).

but every times "brother and sisters" told lies to my parents, about me and about what i was doing with my boyfriend (but we never did anything).

I've been where you are, and I understand how you feel. While I wasn't baptised either, my whole life was spent growing up as a witness. You'd think I was disfellowshipped the way my congregation crosses the street to avoid me...

On a side note: I was in Paris with my husband in May of 2001. We were just celebrating our three year anniversary of our backpacked europe trip.

Too bad I didn't know you then, you could have helped us avoid some of our amazingly naive american mistakes!

for those of you that have seen recent documentarys (i can't remember the program names), there seems to be a few finds of importance regarding man's earliest ancestors.. .

one documentary i watched was about the discovery of an unusual skeleton, they suggested it was a bipedal - it walked on two legs.

but, the jaw and other parts of the skeleton were not completely human like.. .

Anyone read Greg Bear's "Darwin's Radio"? I'm reading it right now and it somewhat deals with a few issues raised here. In particular the "hybrid baby". It is a work of fiction, but very good, for any sci-fi fans out there. And it poses a few disturbing questions about evolution v. creationism.

I was born and raised a JW, although never baptised....I really don't know why I never did, because all my friends did.?.

When I showed interest in a GREAT worldly guy, the elders found me an easy target to make an example of. (Naughty girl, not getting baptised when all the others were.)<--Doesn't count as a sentence.

The ease with which they pushed me out the door befuddled me, and now I don't know how to fill my spiritual void.

Hi Frankie, and thanks for the topic. I didn't ever really make a note of letting everyone know I'd decided to join. Just a small "hi" back a ways ago.

So what made me post? I'd been lurking for a few days. (Just like most people, apparently.) Then I came upon this hilarious thread about disgusting food...it made me laugh so hard. So I went and signed up and here I am...thoroughly enjoying this new group of friends. You all know why you're special; its the reason everyone's here.

My story in a nutshell:

I'm 26, I live in the dairy state (Wisconsin, USA for "out of towners") and I work at a hospital. I grew up a witness, never got baptised and left when they'd had enough of my insubordination (removed). It has been a lot of painful years of ignoring my previous life. But a recent reinterest in my spiritual side let me to a big searching, which lead to typing "Jehovah's Witnesses" on the search engine. 3/4 of my family's JW and the other 1/4 is LDS. Crazy family mix = plenty of issues = my new addiction to this website...because I don't feel so lonely. You have all been so genuine, thank you.
