is it just me or does anyone else get that 'sick' feeling when they see a jdub?
i live in a fairly small town but i knew alot of dubs from all over the state.
i can (gladly) go months without seeing a single witness...but then sometimes no matter where i go they are all over the place.
My wife and I just ran into a couple of those dunderheads. They too, were husband and wife team doing their "spend all your money at Costco shopping." Hammerhead who screwed me years ago (long story) said hi, Mrs Hammerhead didn't, she pretended she didn't see me and said hi to my wife.
Oh no my life is over. The damn sky is falling. Screw her.

i found this website a few days ago, and ive stayed up until 3 and 4 a.m. every night since reading the all-too-familiar stories.
i applaud you for sharing your stories and being so open and caring to others who venture onto this site.

Welcome to the JWD forum. Your post was exceptional! You explain yourself well. Your story is like so many here. Saddening and angering many here I'm sure. It reminded me of my sons wedding, where I had to tell his oldest brother that he too, could not go to the reception. (He and his wife drove 6 hours) In retrospect, I doubt I'll ever get over doing that to him. It was dead wrong.

don't you think a lot of brother's stay with the watchtower because in the real world they would never be anybody so-to-speak.
they would never even attain their '15 minutes of fame' that many have.. but, at the hall, they get to get up in front of an audience, and people listen to them as if they really have something to say!
and they're given a 'title' such as elder, ministerial servant, microphone handler (wow) etc.

You couldn't be more right on the money. Your points made, show themselves over and over and over again, and apply to many within the rank and file of JW's. The Watchtower Society is responsible for boatloads of social retardation.
I've had former close friends of mine even admit, and say that "if we left, who would we hang around with". This despite having themselves blatantly crapped on by the "friends"

Like Blondie pointed out, some will try to help. As soon as their winsome words and or "theocratic advice" dosen't help, (which often does not) then you become branded, stigmatised as a complainer or "here comes Brother/Sister Depressed" or "Brother/Sister Spiritually Weak". (They have a lexicon of names they can come with behind your back) Then they'll say something like if your depressed you need to go out in service more. Shit advice like that.
Peoples emotional and personal problems that crop up largely because they're part of that cult in the first place, is way beyond those who've been elected as "elders" ability to help. Often times some need proffessional help. Not some two bit watchtower advice.
