  i was wondering just what the percentage would be on those who .

  have left and at some point turn to another group or church.. i know from my own trials that i will never be a part of any.

  Each must make their own decision on his one. The Watch Tower experience didn't turn me against all organized religion. True there are problems in many churches, but then again look at what is going on in the schools, government, business, and the labor movement. All organizations, whether they be religious or secular, have their share of crime and corruption.

  A Thought About Assemblies

  since many of you already have read the annual commands from the society about conduct at assemblies.

  ( "don't cook food in your room, blah, blah, blah") , you might consider the meaning of their counsel about bringing.

  lunch.. i think they're scared.. they fear that, if enough witnesses leave the assembly to go to burger king, they might come under pressure to allow.

  In answer to your question Elsewhere as to why the Watch Tower doesn't want to pay sales tax, it is because they would have to file a report with the State revealing what their gross sales is from prepared meals and other taxable items that they sell. If the rank and file found out how much profit the Watchower makes from the wares it allegedly sells at cost, they would not open their wallets so readily.

  I wear a Celtic Cross, which was properly blessed by a priest.

  I should add that the existing archeological evidence indicates that Jesus died on a Cross and not an upright stake as portrayed in JW publications.

  congratulations to the spanish people, who voted the socialists to power as a protest against the conservative government's supporting bush's war on iraq, and for claiming the madrid bombs were acts of the eta nationalists and not an al-qaida attack because of the war on iraq.. so one government has fallen, and there are many more to come, bush.. who says these days ain't fun?

  i was a catholic all my life then in my early 30s i got baptized as a jw.

  a friend of mine when in her 20s became a dub.

  she always talked to me about the borg and troof and i listened.

  the pastoral bible institute, publishers of the herald of christ's kingdom, have just published a special issue of the herald, with a history of the movement, and it's now online.

  this issue shows the adventist roots of charles taze russell, the bible students and the jehovah's witnesses.

  the pbi, inc. was formed by the four ousted watch tower directors in 1917. this group was formed in 1918.

  i went out with girl-friends last night so i slept in this morning.

  had breakfast with hubby as the kids are out and about, and read the paper.. i will potter around home a bit and tidy up, then hubby and i will go to do a bit of shopping and throw some wts cardboard cases into the recycling depot.. later on this afternoon we are meeting some friends down at the lake to watch an open air screening of tropfest which is a competition to find the best short film, made by unknown film makers in australia.

  some music, wine and fine food...........should be great.. then home to get ready for the next week of work........... and not one second regretting my choices!.
