  Future of the Preaching Work?

  i wrote the following comments in a response to joelbear's thread on the 4 steps to the new system.

  but they were sort of off topic there, and i thought they might be of interest as a separate thread.

  at one time, door to door work was highly effective.

  There is no doubt in mu mind that "field service" is quickly denegrating into a complete ritual.

  The WTS has been encouraging other forms of service such as telephone or letter writing, but always as an aside to the core "door-to-door".

  So this leaves the R&F ever more comfortable with the feeling that their service is less about converts and more about proof that their works are a sign of faith.

  This will make field service even more ineffective. Anyone who wants to debate or has a strong opinion is already written off as "not interested".

  "Ignor. Next door" will be the new MO.

  New Testament Paradise Earth

  one of the things that bothers me is the very little or almost non-existent way the paradise earth is talked about in the new testament.

  i've never heard a dub even think about that for one second.. the only occasions i can think of that the dubs use to show the new testament does in fact talk paradise earth is the scripture at matthew 5:5 (about mild tempered ones, or meek inheriting the earth), revelation 21:3,4 (about no more sickness, sorrow, suffering nor death) and jesus on the cross saying that the guy next to him would be with jesus in paradise.. none of these are overly convincing.

  why didn't the apostles talk more about the paradise.

  National JW Day?

  i had an idea.......what if once a year or so all apostates and anit-jw's showed up at the kingdom hall for services?

  even if they didnt even speak, just the mere presence of a few apostates in the crowd.

  but make it known to all congs that this is the day.

  it says 'the resurrection will prove that god did create humans'.

  who will it prove it to exactly ?
