btw...GREAT choice of tool songs...
there are the obvious ones...losing my religion by r.e.m, and all along the watchtower by hendrix..but there is also 'breaking the habit' by linkin park, which always reminds me of those 'good ol' days'
Memories consume
Like opening the wound
I'm picking me apart again
You all assume
I'm safe here in my room
(unless I try to start again)
I don't want to be the one
The battles always choose
'Cause inside I realize
That I'm the one confused
I don't know what's worth fighting for
Or why I have to scream
I don't know why I instigate
And say what I don't mean
I don't know how I got this way
I know it's not alright
So I'm
Breaking the habit
Tonight
Clutching my cure
I tightly lock the door
I try to catch my breath again
I hurt much more
Than anytime before
I had no options left again
I'll paint it on the walls
'Cause I'm the one at fault
I'll never fight again
And this is how it ends
I don't know what's worth fighting for
Or why I have to scream
But now I have some clarity
To show you what I mean
I don't know how I got this
I'll never be alright
So I'm
Breaking the habit
Breaking the habit

What's Your Opinion of the Internet?
by minimus inthe watctower society demonizes the internet.
there have been many unsubstantiated reports that have been proven false on the 'net.
and there have been some very helpful sources here.

living with a housebound man the internet really helps make his/our lives easier.
we can pay bills online. i order books online. i have a few message boards i post at and i keep in touch with some dear friends thru email. its also an awesome research tool. i never give him a new prescription without first looking it up and making sure its not going to interfere with other things he takes or eats. (cant always depend on pharmacists) we order pizza online, also, if i had to do without poppit or word mojo i'd probably die.
wow....exactly my thoughts....well, except for scrabble and zuma on the games end....haha we do our grocery shopping, movie renting, pizza ordering, bill paying, clothes buying, and gift buying online.....i adore the internet and have trouble remembering life without it....

Not love, not lust, but something in-between
by logansrun inon christmas eve i got the chance to get together with an old friend, also an ex-witness, who was visiting from new york.
his life has been something of a hedonic treadmill and only recently has gotten off of it to find, as i like to call him, the sensitive new age jesus.
well, anyway, we got on the subject of sex and relationships.

If your partner is of any redeeming moral character and quality, and it appears that he must be, as most men would jump at the chance to de-flower a true virgin without even a thought, much less a second thought, well she could surely leave herself open to be plucked by someone of a lot less.
the idea that 'most men' would jump at this chance is absurd....i know for me and several of the females i have known, we had to practically beg a guy to be our first....they have it in their mind that the girl will fall in love and want to settle down, blahblahblah....in my case, it was the opposite; the guy wanted to settle down and move in after i thanked him kindly for taking care of my 'little problem'...
anyways, some fine points have been made about the 'sanctity of virginity'...i don't think it is that big of a deal anymore..or it shouldn't be...sex is not love...and love is not needed for tremendously good sex...sure, it helps, but for getting one's virginity out of the way? no...
as sixy so perfectly put it..."I'd much rather be the "first good lover" than just "the first" anyday."

If I were to visit your town for the first time..
by doodle-v inwhat food places would you reccomend?
if im in a new town, i like going to eat at places that locals go to that most like likely are not in all the tourists guides, if possible.
if you were to come to my town, i'd probably take you to eat at dick's drive in (best burgers imo) and if you were in the mood for something fancy, maybe el gauchos (best steakhouse imo) and terrific atmosphere... how bout you?

near me there is an AWESOME breakfast/lunch place called Good Neighbor Restaurant that is owned by a sweet family and has the best egg salad sandwiches around! for italian food, we go to a little place called Zachs that's in a converted house...and, if you're really nice, we'll drive down to los angeles proper and hit Roscoe's Chicken & Waffles...mmmmmmm

This Is The Wife.
by Englishman inwhy do blokes say this?.
i've lost count of the number of times an aquaintance or customer introduces his partner by saying: "oh yeah, this is the wife".. .
the wife?.
-

i love that phrase...'the wife' ...when asking my friends how their significant others are i always say 'how's the wife' or 'how's wifey'.....of course, i also don't mind being called a 'chick' or a 'broad'...so, i am a freak....
