They can't even provide assistance to their own elderly pioneers who are old and no longer can go out in service. I was told by my uber elder cousin when my mom needed assistance during the day after hip surgery it "wasn't the pioneers responsibility" to help out with my mom. But they can sure make the time for coffee breaks and driving around bugging people and wasting time on people that aren't home. So now my mother has to pay out of her own pocket an agency that comes in 3 times a week to assist since she doesn't drive. GAH! She doesn't have much money but I guess they will make sure she runs out before any of the pioneers would lift a finger to help out. Oh and my uber elder cousin has inherited boat loads of money from his non JW father but there's none for his Aunt!!!!

Updates on people leaving Wallkill?
by Lynnie indoes anyone have any updates on how many people have left wallkill in the last couple of months?.
i keep seeing pics of "going away parties" from my uber heavyweight bethelite cousins.
they are in their late 30's but must have some special thing going on (he's in purchasing i believe) because they get to fly all over the world like africa most recently.

Well these cousins do have a safety net since their dad my first cousin stands to inherit bunches of money from his non JW father. But yeah it will be interesting to see how long Alison and Jonathan last at Bethel. somehow I think they are in the rinner circle somehow and will be for quite sometime. Oh but if there are health issues I guess that won't matter!

A CO years ago wanted me to be his mistress and told me to be patient and wait for him! I told my mother and aunt about this but they said I must have been mistaken. Yeah right, he stalked me to my new apartment! does anyone know Kin Shinn (sp? might be Sueon) and his wife Mary Jo? She was a very flashy Co's wife. I just wondered how many other single women he had on the line!

Young Ones Leaving
by pale.emperor inin the congregation that i grew up in there were about 30 children under 16 (myself included).
as time went on they one by one slipped away from the meetings and most never got baptized.
of those 30 children only myself and two other girls stayed and got baptized.

Funny in Seattle in the Ravenna hall there seems to be lots of young people but they are very loose up here as far as your social activities and associations it seems. Everyone is usually going to music venues and other worldly activities but it's all good if you go to these events with other JWs apparently.Oh and marathons too. They always seem to have time for that stuff. my uber elder cousin went to the Doobie brothers concert just recently which I was amazed about since it was held at a casino venue. But also I think he keeps his activities rather vague to others so there is no judging!

So what is the new rules about shunning of inactive ones? My cousin is an elder so I bet the rules don't apply to him!!! Any info would be appreciated.

Elders harassing me
by raven inhi everyone, it has been a while since i've last updated!
(refer to my previous posts for the full story) here is a quick re-cap: 2 months ago my mother found out that i am living with my boyfriend, she told me i was discovered by an "anonymous" tipper who turned me in for "living in sin".. first of all, that is nearly impossible, the congregation i was in is 100's of miles away from where i currently live.. no one would have ever known i was living with my boyfriend unless i told them, which i never did, i cut off all communication with that congregation in part of my attempted fade which was blown into pieces and discovered.. anyways, my mom tells me if i don't go to the elders and confess like a good little sheep, then she is obligated to tell them.. ( don't see why, i don't even live under her roof ) well i never went to them because why should i?
so they met with my mother and she told them i live with my boyfriend... let me remind you, this was two months ago.. i was told i was going to be df'd and that was that.

I've been out for 40 years but had a very similar experience when I left. I had been gone from the JW's for almost 2 years and my mother gave them my address because she suspected I was living in sin (yes I was!) But I thought after two years no one would bother me but of course she gave them the address and the elders showed up unannounced one night and there was a big party with smoking and drinking going on so...I was df'd but not even sent a letter or anything. Funny how they don't leave some people alone at all but others they do. My cousin Cheryl was able to leave no problem, marry a non-believer and not get DF'd. In fact she told me I could leave the JW's anytime I like because she had. Well her mother was a big $$$ contributor to the KH where we went so in her case they just left her alone. Not me however. I couldn't believe they were still interested in me after 2 years! Jerks!! They should spend time with people that actually want to be in the org, not harassing people that just want to leave quietly!!

counting time
by Sabin inyesterday jw knocked on my door, i was sitting in the office with the window right next to it, they couldn't see me & i decided not to answer.
they stood there for what seemed ages & as i watched something hit me.
they were here only because they were on the territory.

Yes it's truly amazing how the pioneers are so interested in "counting time" but can't stop by elderly witness ladies who have given their whole life to the stupid cult. My mom is elderly and had some health issues earlier this year with a hip replacement and when she came home she was a little forgetful and she doesn't drive etc so my uber elder cousin (she's his aunt) and his wife thought I should get a day off of my full time job every week in order to go care for her.(Ive been DF'd for 40 years) She wasn't in a wheel chair or anything just needs some company and perhaps someone to help her with meals a little and take her to the store. I asked how come the pioneers couldn't help out since they were out driving around anyway and I was told in no uncertain terms that they were "stretched too thin" and "it wasn't their responsibility to help with their elderly members." OMG! So now my mom on a fixed income has to pay an agency 3 afternoons a week to come and help her and she's on a fixed income!!! My elder cousin is well off as well because of his non witness dad giving him several rental properties way back when. So yeah can't count time so no help for the elderly that really need it. I hate these people! So they can waste their time and gas driving around bugging people that don't want them but their own members they can't help out at all! -

Name Things You Can't Do If You Are JW...or not supposed to do
by minimus inwitnesses are not supposed to stand for the national anthem but can stand for a flag salute.. you can't say bless you if someone sneezes, good luck!, or " you too" if someone says, happy holidays.. it is a religion of cannot dos.
everything is pagan and worldly.. what are things that are unacceptable to jehovah's witnesses that really are no big deal to everyone else?

Yes it depends on who you are and your status in the org and that will determine what you can and cannot do! Seattle seems to be very liberal in that area, people are always doing 1/2 marathons, going to various rock concerts, celebrating New Year's Eve on that actual day. yes you can do what you want as long as you have an elder as a parent or are in with the cool crowd.
