Do You Honestly Believe That You Would Have Officially Left The JW Religion If They Didn't Shun You?

i left as an inactive person.

i pretty much have been left alone by the elders and witnesses, as far as being hounded.. i know of many that either disassociated or got disfellowshipped.. i'm wondering if you think you would have remained a jw, in name only, if the religion (cult) didn't shun and penalize as they do..

I left because I didn't want to go door to door anymore and that was pretty much required in my extended family. However I thought I could just leave

who knew that two years later they would be hunting me down (with my mother's help, she gave them my address) to find any goods on me. Funny how

my cousin told me I could leave at any time, she left successfully, married a non JW and is still very much accepting in the JW part of the family. Of course they had much more money than my mom so I guess I was much more expendable.

we all know that elders and ministerials are appointed by holy spirit.

i was in the organization for about 25 years and was in 4 different congregations over the years.. in one congregration there was a sister in her mid-50's with an unbelieving husband.

he did not attend meetings.

Yeah I know snakeface, it's all very interesting how it depends on WHO you are as opposed to what your "good works" are.

Now this same elder's daughter has decided to join back up but has been "studying" for about two years now and does not

go door to door (and has no intention I believe) but it's a great way to belong to the "social club" and be accepted by her

family and lots of friends. The love bombing is of giant proportions too. But no requirement of an elder's daughter to be an

UBP unlike the rest of the rank and file so far. And she can probably go for years like this on the fence.

My cousin is an uber elder and was appointed very young, probably at 30 or so and has been one ever since. Interesting that

he had a rebellious daughter and she didn't go for the JW thing and even ran away a couple of times but he was never

removed for not having his family under control like it happens to others. I think it was because his rich mother donated lots to the KH.

No holy spirit there either!!

for the DF'd: did you confess or were you ratted out?

looking back at the 10 or so cases of disfellowshipping i recall, i think only 1 was due to the orwellian borg spy system.

he was ratted out.. all the other cases were actually "confessions" by people that otherwise would have gotten away with it.

i am wondering is these percentages.

My dear mother ratted me out. I had been gone for 2 years and she gave the elders my address

so they could come unannounced and get the goods on me. It worked, I lived in a communal house at

the time and we were having a big party when they showed up. No JC for me, I guess they felt they

had enough evidence against me! HA! and of course to this day my mother will say, well it was

YOUR decision to get DF'd and she had nothing to do with it! Really???

here's a few from me.. no more having to go to stupid boring meetings.. no more having to go knock on doors in field service and waste my time!.

no more mind numbing elders meetings..

Can wear whatever I want when I want!

oh and can have whatever friends I want! Love that part especially!

Read whatever books I want without being told it's a waste of time!

Why Do Some Ex-JWs Get Their Feelings Hurt So Badly By Shunning?

i ran in to a ex-jw and had a good laugh once he realized i was not going to shun him.

i am a different soul when we are dealing with watchtower demonology, everything about the organization is fan boy based.

watchtower creates the illusion of a community that never existed, we were too blind to realize most of the people we invested time with was nothing more than a farce, once you can't offer up more sacrfices on the watchtower's alter, your going to get less attention and eventually if your kingdom hall is big enough, they won't come looking for you.. .

And how about the family members that are baptized but just able to leave with

absolutely no consequences (my cousin) and she isn't shunned to this day. She

told me I could leave the JW at any time, she did. Well I left and then had elders stalking me 2 years

later looking for anything they could find to DF me. Of course they got their evidence since

they showed up to my communal house unannounced while a big party was going on.

I hate the double standard and the picking and choosing of who gets shunned or not

depending on how rich you are in the congo. It's a nasty practice and it's not out of LOVE like they say at

all!! So I get to watch her be included in every wedding and every other event JW but not me! I dont' see any

difference in what she did compared to what I did, I wanted out and moved away from home. She married a non

believer and no reproof no nothing. I was sanctioned very harshly and will never understand why. The only

explanation I can come up with that my cousin's family has much money more than mine so they didn't

want to miss out on any possibly donations from my cousin's JW mother. nice!!!

THE GB/WBATS ARE RATTLING THE FENCE...

for all those who are still hanging on to the figurative fence, the gb/wbats do not like you.

with the many recent successive adjustments, changes, new light and new bible, fear tactics and the new meaning of gods name, many who were on the fence have went to their respective sides of the fence.

wether that side is the brainwashed, cult following, ultra jw side, or the eyes opened, i can see ttatt, i want out side, this is what they want.

How long can someone "study" before they are "encouraged" to become baptised and go out in

service? I have a cousin who is playing the game perfectly, she never went for the WTBTS when she was

growing up (she's born in) but now at 33 has decided to attend meetings and "study" with someone and has been

doing this for about 2 years now but no field service just attending meetings. Seems to work great for her

since the congo she's in has several 30 somethings to party and drink with but so far no field service. I know

people don't have to be baptised to go out in service but it seems to be at some point she won't be able to

continue the fence sitting that she's been doing for so long and so well.

What was the subject of the Watchtower Study this past Sunday?

i have a psycho cousin that has decided to go back to the jw's after never wanting to be a jw even though.

now in her early thirties she's decided to join up.

i heard her say something about this.

Hmmm very interesting. Wonder why my cousin thought it was so fricking wonderful? I'll never understand people

who go back to this stuff after clearly not wanting anything to do with it prior. I guess the pressure of being separated from

family is too much for her. However I'm sure she'll be one of those people that will study forever and never get baptised and

never go out in service since her father is a uber elder. After all that might cut into her hobby of going to rock concerts every week. But in the meantime she's getting love bombed to death and lots of attention which is what she thrives on. Whatever!
