Happy Easter! And aren't we all hypocrites, don't we all try to show our good side? I heard a story once from a minister who said a man complained about all the hypocrites in church and he was told, "Hey, we'd be glad to move over, there's always room for one more; but if you ever do find the perfect church, don't join it c'z you'd probably just spoil it." Kinda like hate the sin but love the sinner...That just kinda stuck with me.

Pet Care, I need your assistance...
by jeanniebeanz inwell, my cat johnny who is 17 years old had gone from 16 lbs to under 10 in a short time, and we finally know why.
according to the latest blood work, he has a hyper thyroid.
the vet has told us there are only three options; pills (cat cannot swallow pills, never has been able to), surgery in which they would bombard the thyroid with enough radiation to kill it (very risky for a cat this age), and a medicated gel which we would have to rub in his ear each day.

Jeannie, if you go the pill route, be sure to just give him a little bit of the food w. the crushed pill so he doesn't eat around it.

Oh, I'm sorry for you. We have an old Mama cat who is 17 also and isn't doing very well, is deaf and has signs of dimentia, wanders around crying a lot. Anyway...I vote for crushing the pills and putting them in some really good soft food that she might like...or dissolve in a little bit of milk, if she likes that. Anything that she'll really lap up, crush them fine and slip in her dish.

Honey, I'm a Catholic and have daughters your age. One dated a JW in her late teens and that's when I learned all about their teachings. First of all, JW or not, he is/has been cheating on you and taking you for an ignorant person. Is that the ride you want out of life? Stand on your two feet, get some self esteem and move on without him in your life. Get some professional help if you need it for awhile.\
It is not going to be easy, but you will be the better person for it and he will be standing in the background still struggling because that is what HE chooses.
You go on Girl and Choose to make yourself a Strong Woman, ok?

tonights memorial
by bonnzo in.
a scripture was read during the talk i never thought of before, 1cor 11:26 which says:"for as often as you eat this loaf and drink this cup, you keep proclaiming the death of the lord, until he arrives.".
if he arrived in 1914, why do we still "eat this loaf and drink this cup"?
-
AuntieJane
Are you serious? They said that you should eat and drink until he arrives...but you are actually NOT encouraged to partake, isn't that right? And Jesus supposedly has returned....so...? I don't get it.(Not a JW here, so I'm confused)

A Christian Memorial

What is a Memorial? It is a monument, a reflection of a past event to remind us of a person, place or time. When we hear Christ's words,
"DO THIS IN MEMORY OF ME" shouldn't we become that living monument? Are we not to follow his words and become a living memorial to
Him? Sharing in his Body, in communion WITH each other we become one, with Him... together...we are the Memorial.
Isn't this what he meant?

I love the outfit idea; when complimented on it, I hope you have the guts to say, "Thank you I got it at the Catholic...." They raise money for charitable causes by selling 2nd hand clothes like this and I wanted to help them out, isn't that neat?

power of the holy spirit
by tijkmo inim just back from the memorial and something occured to me that i had never thought of before.....if the holy spirit is able to get accross to the anointed that they are anointed leaving them in no doubt...how come it is unable to convince those that take the emblems wrongly(and the org recognizes that there are plenty that do that) that they shouldnt be taking them.....you would think it would be in its interests to stop any wrong partakers since the end being ever nearer is based to a large extent on the number of anointed remaining....tijkmo

That would be logical thinking and JW's don't use such a process.
