r, it is obvious that you have enabled him. I'm guilty of the same thing, as are so many others. Let him go; if he wants to come back make one of the requirements professional help. and stick to it.
Tell him you love him too much to let him keep going on the track he is on. He will be a better person for understanding himself. My daughter put us through hell and when she finally got into therapy she was a changed person. It might be something he will always needs; she has gone on and off for several yrs and is now 24. I see a real maturity now, but there is still room to grow. Thank God we don't have any of those little grandkids that so many people our age are raising. I could not do that. My body is tired, my brain is tired, it would be awful for them and me. Please stay strong, you and your husband need to stop helping this kid. It is not fair to him or to your family. You want him to be the person that has values that you were taught. Not be a taker in life. Good luck.

Did I miss my opportunity?
by StillGroggy inim a long time witness but the last district convention with all of it's "don't think for yourself" propoganda led me to this board.
lately i've been trying to formulate a plan, to try and reason with her and get us both out (although her whole family is in, and probably will be till death)
my wife has at times been dissilussioned with the org, but, ironically, i'm usually the one to comfort her and tell her to wait on jehovah.

JW attending funerals in Catholic church
by wordlywife injust wondering, my jw husband attended a funeral at a catholic church with me, and i thought perhaps this was frowned upon?
have any of you former jw's ever gone to any service in a church before?

Given my experience, let me say to you ww that maybe your husband's eyes were opened a bit
by the love that was no doubt shown at the funeral. I'm glad for you that he went and hope some
little seeds of doubt start growing!

Sorry, but I am really upset over this. My JW nephew, niece and her kids all stood right
beside the door (inside) the Catholic church during their father's funeral (my brother). What
the crap conscience did they follow? Now I realize they actually did have a choice, but
choose to stand like fools and make whatever statement they thought they made. This
is hard to take, 6 years later!

My daughter turns 14 today!
by lovelylil ini am so happy for her.
it is only the second birthday we are celebrating.
she is very excited as we are having a party at a local pizza place that she and all her friends hang out at and then invited 10 of her closest friends to go to the arcade afterwards - tokens on me and her father.. i was thinking how less than 3 years ago now my daughter was very depressed and spent most of her time in her room.
