How Would You Prove That Abstaining From Blood Is Not Prohibiting Transfusions?
by minimus inlast night my grandson got a blood transfusion.
it occured to me how stupid the belief is that to "abstain from blood" refers to a transfusion.
how would you reason with someone to show that abstaining from blood would not refer to accepting a blood transfusion?.

I hope your Grandson is doing well.
I wrote this essay about blood trying to show that it was OK to have a transfusion. I was concerned about my family and wanted to reason with them. but no one would look at it. Here is a link to my essay.

WHY ALL THE QUESTIONS ?
by iknowall558 in" acts 22 : 16. what are you waiting for.........?
the ethiopian eunuch had this attitude when peter preached jesus to him.
he immediately requested and received baptism.

There were four of us getting baptized at the same time, so the elders had all of us answer the questions together. It was ridiculous, in that each of us had to give an answer after a question was read. At least we each got a chance to be first. Being the fourth person to speak was the worst. Couldn't understand why we couldn't just take the first person's answer and move on. After all, if you didn't know the answer, you could have paraphrased what was already said.

Jehovah's Witnesses "snapping" under pressure, their flawed doctrine must be sending people "over the edge"!
by the research lady inin the last year the watchtower's public relations department is being inundated with inquiries concerning jehovah's witnesses and their bizarre behaviour.
the recent murder and cannabalism of a three week old baby is the latest in a series of ongoing horrific news articles linking jehovah's witnesses to acts of violent crimes.
http://www.seattlepi.com/national/408515_baby28.html?source=mypi what is causing these problems?

The idea that this woman's mental problems were caused by being a Jw is totally ridiculous. Suggesting this idea will only help push anyone doubting back into the fold. There are so many actual reasons why this religion is destructive, why create your own.

How Many Personally Heard F. W. Franz Speak?
by snowbird ini believe i did in 1974, but i was just coming into the org and didn't realize the significance of the part he played.. it was a sunday at a stadium on the campus of the university of alabama in tuscaloosa.
all the "friends" were almost beside themselves with excitement, so looking back, it must have been f. w. franz!.
i'd worked until 6 pm that saturday night, had a one year old teething child, and had to arise at 3 am to get ready for the bus trip.. when we arrived, the weather had turned colder, the stadium was quite warm, and i fell asleep a few minutes into the talk.

I think I first heard him speak at the Belmont Racetrack in NY sometime in the mid-seventies. I remember my relatives telling me very excitedly that he was blind and knew the bible by heart. Don't remember what he said, but I do remember it took him a long time to say it. I was worried he would never stop talking.

I wonder if Jose kept his family captive with half hour prayers explaining JW teachings while their food got cold. Like the prays given at the end of assemblies

WATCHTOWER 15/10/09 RE. D/F'D FRIENDS
by BluesBrother inthis is the 4th study article, to be studied christmas week as it happens.
title - "maintaining friendships in a loveless world".
para 2 "today, what a pleasure it is to be associated with a worldwide organization whose members follow the pattern set by first century christians.

The Society doesn't have a clue what true friendship is. In p. 13 they turn the caring concerns of a persons true friends into something vile. The friends are "speaking abusively" of the Society, not the friend. The Society slowly and cunningly turns the new recruit against his friends. Their protests of your new found faith is nothing more than Satan trying to stop you. I hate the fact that I was guilty of warping peoples minds about their friends.
The new recruit winds up removing true friends from their life and replaces them with superficial ones who turn their backs on you as soon as you stop towing the party line.

Without the original understanding of the Generation, there's really no timeline left. This old system could go on *forever*, just as it has gone on for thousands of years
The Generation change was a turning point for me. I already had trouble with the sheep and goats change and now I saw this change for what it was. It was an attempt to dig themselves out of a hole. The Generation was dying off. Their definition just didn't make sense. Everyone knows what the definition of generation is and here they were making up a new definition that as you said has no meaning at all. The dictionary's definition fits well with what Jesus was saying. Within this generation the end will come and it came within 40 years of him saying it. Even with all the doubts I had it took me another 6 years to be mentally free.
The first "new light" on who the Generation is didn't go over well, so they quickly changed it again with "newer light". This newer light allowed for the big increase in those partaking at the Memorial. So, it served two purposes. It stopped anyone from wondering why the numbers were going up and now they are free of any time restraints. They finally learned from the mistakes of the past not to set dates or limits.

It is hideous how this ridiculous teaching has affected people. My Aunt lost her father 6 years ago. He would be 100 this year had he lived. She still can not get over the fact that he died. She is a born in JW and there was no doubt in her mind that her father would walk into the new world. She had absolute confidence that he would not die. We are all worried how she will handle it if my uncle goes first. I feel so bad for her.
