  i had just thought briefly, that if american soldiers are to receive court martial, or some kind of discipline for (smiling) or giving the (thumbs up) over the deaths of iraq prisoners and victims--then perhaps jehovah's witnesses who give the very same (smiles) and approval of death victims, should likewise be disciplined as well.. look at these similarities.

  i can't feel the holy spirit operating in you people.

  the first time i exposed myself to apostates, i was imagining matured people, more matured than the jw's.

  as witnesses, we believed that for a thousand years in the new system ....life would be grand.

  at the termination of the thousand year rule of jesus, we learned satan would be let loose and many paradise dwellers would follow him.

  why do you suppose the majority of mankind who had no satan or demons to influence them, would want to follow a wicked wiley snake who already got his arse kicked twice now already from god for rebelling.

  Is The WTBS Really Crumbling?

  there have been posts and topics about the wtbs imploding and feuding factions in bethel etc.

  some have said that the end is near for the wtbs.

  is this just wishful thinking...or do you really think that this is a reality?

  My vote is also: wishful thinking. If they didn't get it in '95 when the masthead on the Awake was changed and "God's Promise" thereby revoked....then I don't know what it would take for them to Wake Up. There is no arguing with a delusion that firmly held.

  Should I renounce my baptism to the JW organization?

  i got baptized in 1986, when i was 17. i got df'd in 1992, when i was 22.

  (april birthday.. df'd early in 1992.... .

  i don't want to sound like i am complaining about this next part because i actually have a very happy life right now with very few exceptions/concerns.

  I have wondered the same - if I could just take it all back. My sister was never baptized - she just moved to another state and quietly left the organization. My mom, who is an active and over-the-top JW, would love to have a relationship with her - but my sister wants nothing to do with her because of all the religious and emotional abuse she had to endure. But because I am DF'ed my mom shuns me.

  I was 13 years old and got babtized for the same reason as you - guilt and pressure. That is an insane age to make such a monumental decision - one at which we would never be allowed to make other such important decisions like leave school, leave the JW's or get married.

  I think the other advise you got was the best - even it worked - which it won't - the fact still remains that my mom is totally brainwashed by this organization and is still judgemental and will still pressure me to be something/someone that I'm not. I know I needed to hear that for myself because I struggle with the same issue.

  Please let me know what you decide and if it works out for you.

  I feel for you so much and wish I could give you hug and tell you that everything will be okay. I think if you keep seeking you will eventually KNOW that for yourself though. I am gay and and ex-jw (df'ed) and I know that God loves me and that I am okay in his eyes. One of the ways I experience God's love is through other people and the grace I experience in my life. However, this NEVER happened in the JW's -- I was judged and kicked to the curb. How Christlike, eh?

  I am reading the Ray Franz book - Crisis of Conscious. I highly recommend it. I wonder if anyone could read it and still be a JW. Its very telling of the hypocracy and hogwash that exists at the top of the organization. It also makes it very clear that the religion is a mad-made and man-controlled organization with very little scriptural basis for their doctrines. But be careful- - reading the book will mean to the JW's that you are an apostate.

  BREAKING NEWS FROM GOVERNING BODY

  recently the local congregation had the visit of the c.o.

  the local needs talk he usually gives was replaced by a talk he said will be given to many congregations around the world.. this talk is targeting th very young.

  kids are being strongly encouraged not to put off baptism and that children as young as 10 can make an informed decision to get baptized.

  Getting baptised at 13 was the WORST decision I have ever made. And to this day I resent that I was allowed and encouraged to make it. Let me ask them this - is the opposite also true...can a 10 year old also make the decision to LEAVE the JW's?? Hypocracy!!

  I agree with everyone else....they are just going to any lengths to get the baptism numbers up.

  one famous wts myth that i have heard uttered more times a minimus question is that ?women feel while men think?, did you ever wonder where the wts dug that thought up from?
