Picketing is Fun!!!!
by Junction-Guy infor those of you who are unaware, i have been picketing local kingdom halls here for the past 6 weeks, and i have really been enjoying it.
i have been standing on the side of the road in front of the halls on sunday afternoons between noon and 1pm holding a couple of different signs given to me by undaunted danny.. i have been very polite and friendly to the passerby's and havent yelled or harrassed people contrary to the popular misconception of the "evil apostates.
" the looks on some of the witnesses faces has truly been priceless.

Hey Bryan
What a nice welcome to New Orleans, eh?! If you are leaving -- the sooner the better. The interstate will be clogged to the max if you wait till the last minute. I'm sure you've already been warned - but the NO area can and does flood terribly - so better safe than sorry.
I am boarding up my windows today and leaving town this evening. I went to Home Depot in the East last night and they were completely sold out of 1/2 inch plywood and OSB board. I ended up getting some crappy panel board. I guess its better than nothing.
Be safe!

Satan sent to earth in 1914?? My mom's on drugs!
by Bubbamar inin my mom's last letter she made a statement that in 1914 satan was sent to earth.
does anyone know what she's talking about?
i thought everyone pretty much agreed that the snake in the garden was satan, that satan was on earth in jesus day and still is and has always been.

Nocturn - Thank you so much for the scripture reference and the link!
Boa - LMAO!! Very Creative
Quotes - Please expound...History for Dummies needed.
Nos - Great point - "Gee - thanks Jeboobah!! Now we know how precious we really are to you."
TD - Yes, I was thinking egocentric too. I imagine in another 100 years there will still be people saying that Revelation and the term "generation" was meant for them.

I thought everyone pretty much agreed that the snake in the garden was satan, that satan was on earth in Jesus day and still is and has always been. I thought satan would be sent away for Jesus' 1000 year reign and then sent back to earth for his final membership drive.
Of course I'm referring to JW doctrine....but I'd also like some scriptures to refute this - from those of you more versed in the scriptures than my heathen self.
Thanks guys!

Gall Bladder....Is yours in or out?
by morty inso here's the deal and question...... .
about 9 years ago i had pain so bad it sent me to emergency to find out what was going on...needless to say they admitted me to find out what was going on because i had pain like this 3 times before but did not go to the hospital...i ended up going to the or to have my gall bladder removed and remained in the hospital for a total of 11 days....when all was said and done they said i was curred now and would never experince that kind of pain again... ( i was eating kfc when the pain started.
since then i have not touched the stuff) .

I was told a few months ago that I have gall stones and need the surgery. I'm not opting for it because I don't have symptoms anymore. But they did tell me that if one of the stones is IN the duct when they take the gall bladder out -- you will still have problems because of the remaining stone. I don't know much though - I would definitely go back to the doctor because I do remember how bad the pain is and its nothing to play with.

Why don't they just... you know... change their tactics and reform? It'd be easier in the long run than trying maintain this charade which makes nobody happy.
I think the charade DOES make their 6 million readers happy. Nobody would buy their magazines if they openly admitted to their insanity. It has been shown over and over again that dubs don't want to know. If they wanted to know the truth they would do what we did and actually do some research.
Also: WELCOME Wiegle! (I don't know what your quote means???)

Feedback please - letter from Mom
by Bubbamar ini just got a surprisingly nice letter back from my mom.
in my last letter to her i made a comment that a 10 year old in 1914 would be 100 now and that she must think the end is very near (that was the current light when i got df'ed.
) i did that on purpose to get her to tell me about the 1995 doctrine change.

I just got a surprisingly nice letter back from my mom. In my last letter to her I made a comment that a 10 year old in 1914 would be 100 now and that she must think the end is very near (that was the current light when I got DF'ed.) I did that on purpose to get her to tell me about the 1995 doctrine change. Well, interestingly, she didn't even address it!! I can't even believe it. I thought she would be all over it! What do you guys think that means?? Could she be embarrassed? Or is she hoping that I am looking for the big A and wants me to believe its still due any day?
I also asked her about her reasons for still shunning me and told her that I know of other families that do not shun their family members as harshly as she does me and asked if she felt that contact with me could somehow taint her. She said that some people stretch the DF doctrine as far as they can but that the bible and WT are very clear about it. She said that it's only discipline but can lead to everlasting destruction.
Is that true?? I thought it was also to keep the congregation clean. If its discipline then that's even sicker than I thought. I've been disciplined for 18 years for Christ sake!! Enough is enough isn't it. Well, I guess for a JW enough is never enough.
It was interesting that she sounded relatively sane and nice in this letter and the last one was cold, mean and crazy...telling me not to push her for more, etc--very JW. She even sent a little gift this time - a Time booklet of things that happened in 1967 - my birth year.
Anyway, any guesses about her avoidance of the 1914 issue? or thoughts on her explanation of the DF doctrine?

How Many Hours Do You Work?
by Englishman injust curious.. todays "times" says that americans do most things one hour before the brits do.. americans, it says, start work at 8am, brits rarely before 9 am.
american lunch is at 12 noon, the uk is 1pm.
american dinner is at 6pm, uk eats around 7.. but how many hours do you need to actually work?.

I work 9-5 M-F at my main job and get 4 weeks of vacation time, about 7 or 8 holidays and 5 sick days. Then I also have a second job (small business) and work about 5-6 hours a week with it. I'm also back in school - only 1 class this semester.
This is the first job I've had where I get more than 1 or 2 weeks of vacation. And I love it - but its also kind of like velvet handcuffs. I can't leave even if I want to!!

Could the fish have survived considering the fresh/salt water ratio and also considering that the temp. of the the water would have been affected by that much rain??
My answer is --- He didn't eat-- because people in story books don't need to eat.
