went on to say that he pays nothing because Jesus died on a cross and automatically pays all of his bills.
Who payed for his Big Mac? Did Jeebus let him Super Size?
yeah, so yesterday i'm at mcdonald's with my kids.
this guy walks in all full of dried paint on his hair and clothes.
he sits down with his food, and then starts preaching out loud to the entire restaurant about how the hurricane is god's way of punnishing the whores and the homos who are now paying the price for their sins.. .

ok, all you "bleedin' hearts" get ready to flame me..... i have been watching the developments in the devastated areas like everyone else, and something has begun to strike me.
there seems to be tens of thousands of people who are just sitting around waiting for help to miraculously drop out of the sky, and the longer they sit idle, the madder they get that the government hasn't swooped in and immediately solved all their problems.
i have a few questions about this mindset:.
It seems to me that alot of those complaining are used to the government taking care of them through all the programs available and are now demanding what they are used to.
I believe this is absolutely true. There are thousands of people in New Orleans living in extreme poverty, who have been on government assistance for generations. Who is to blame for the situation (the government or idividual) is beside the point. It's the reality.
some time back i posted a first draft, and then a new draft of a letter to a friend that is still in the borg.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/7/94229/1.ashx .
i found the truth is not true, and that the organization is not what it seemed.
Jeff-
That's an extremely effective letter. Major improvement over your first draft!
I think it would be hard for almost any Witness to read that, and not have a little seed of doubt planted. Hope it makes your friend question some things!
edited to add: I nominate this for the "best of letters to friends/family" section!

a recent thread where people were recommending music for someone going through a breakup, reminded me of the movie high fidelity.. the main charatcer, rob lists his top 5 breakup albums (and songs too i think, does anyone know what they were?).
what are the albums/songs that make you feel better, by making you feel worse?
here's a few of mine:.
Yet another..............
"It's Gonna Be Alright" Ween
Baby what have I done
gone and left you, all alone
its hard for me to sing this song
we've been together for so long
I think I know what my soul's got to say
and it wont hurt as bad, someday
Its gonna be alright, baby
its gonna be alright, love
and if the mist ever lets the sun through
i'll just hope I did the right thing
for me and you
Guess I'm ruled by my heart
built a life and I tore it all apart
It's just not our time
but you'll find a new love, and you'll be fine
So many dark and lonely nights
but I believe someday I'll see the light
It's gonna be alright, baby
Its gonna be alright , love
and if the mist ever lets the sun through
I'll just hope I did the right thing
for me and you

"She Wanted to Leave" Ween
Three mens all there were Three men out at sea Three men came aboard my ship And took my true love from me I couldnt believe She wanted to leave She wanted to leave Ive loved you so long Since you were a child Ive cared for your every need Ive tried to make you smile When all the while You wanted to leave You wanted to leave Go gather the guns Well blast them at sea She begged for me not to shoot For "my true love is here with me Ive never loved thee And now I must leave And now I must leave" So go fetch a bottle of rum dear friends And fill up my glass to the rim For I'm not the man I used to be Now I'm one of them

"You're Breakin' My Heart" by Harry Nilsson
You're breakin' my heart
You're tearin' it apart
So f--k you
You stepped on my ass
You're breaking my glasses too
You wanna drive my car
Buy a lot of stuff
I've had enough
Of you--ooh!
I'm goin' insane
There's no one to blame
So f--k you
You've gotta have your way
There's nothin' left to say
There's nothin' left to do--ooh!
You're breakin' my heart
You're tearin' it apart
So f--k you
You've gotta have your way
There's nothin' left to say
There's nothin' left to do--ooh!
You're breakin' my heart
You're tearin' it apart
But I love you

Just remembered this one today: The Cure Disintegration, especially "Pictures of You".
If only I'd thought of the right words
I could have held on to your heart
If only I'd thought of the right words
I wouldn't be breaking apart
All my pictures of you
