What little things used to excite you as a JW?

i would get excited when i was younger and would study the watchtower and see that this weeks study only had 19 paragraphs.

(made the study seem shorter,lol).

when a meeting would get canceled because of snow (which was rare) and i would get to stay home and watch a cheers or the cosby show.

Sounds like we came from the same mould!! It was the only thing that kept me going at times - checking out the district talent. It was like a tottyfest most of the time.

My stepson did security recently at a district ASSembly (not a witness, venue rules) and he went on for DAYS about the gooorgeous ladieeees at the ASSembly... and I have to wholeheartedly agree.

My 4 year old daughter has declared us JW free!!!!

well exactly as the title says...my 4 year old daughter, obviously tired of my dithering has taken matters into her own hands!.

the background is that i was bought up in the troof, and began my fade about 6 months ago.

i had been talking to my daughter about us not going to the meetings anymore and she accepted it very well.

Hi Puter...

Hang in there matey and keep trying - all the effort will be worth it one day!! I was seperated from my little girl for 2 1/2 years, and had to fight tooth and nail to get to see her.

My ending to that story so far, has been a really happy one. I hope and pray yours will be too!!

we can use your face for a halloween mask if it freezes suddenly with that expression on it.. how would you feel if your sister died after you said such awful things to her?

An average Americans view of the French people

i have just returned from spending a week in the company of frenchbabyface, (fbf) and would like to share some basic observation that i feel will enlighten my fellow countrymen and women about a people we, as a culture, actually know very little about.

i do believe the medias of both countries do not show their people an honest and forthright view of the other countries people.

the american media gives us almost no news of france and most of what we do get is not very positive.

I live in a tourist town in Florida so I know how the locals feel in general about visitors and how we stay away from them personally. Example, I go to the places they don't know about and when I want to play at a tourist spot I know when most of them will not be around and go then.

JWD half-way house...

do you see jwd as a half-way house?.

my opinion: if it's not, then we've done nothing other than join another religion (the "anti-wts-ism" church just around the corner, praise god).. if it is a half-way house, then there comes a time when we must move on.... or are there other good and sufficient reasons to 'stick with it'?.

Zapped In Style By A Dubbie Lady!

so there i was, slaving away in a customers front garden, cutting fascias and guttering to size prior to affixing them to his home.

like all window and gutter fixers, my clothes are covered with a hundred finger marks where i have used my forefinger to point in the mastic and then just wiped it on the nearest thing to hand, ie, me.

i look like i have been the victim of a 1000 seagull bomber raid.

No matter how quick thinking / quick witted we are, it will always be stacked in the JW favour when presented with 'conversation stopper' comments like what Eman made - after all, they are constantly conditioned for this!!

Her comments just showed how cold hearted and unsympathetic the JW's are to 'those that fell by the wayside'. As regards not admitting to mistakes etc, I had never even heard of the 1975 thing until someone brought it up on the ministry. When I questioned my Mom about it, I was told that many people thought Armageddon was coming in 1975, so got big mortgages, loans etc. with the intention of never being able to pay it back. They didn't have the right heart condition, so Jehovah USED 1975 to weed out those that weren't worthy of being in the new system. In my dubbie mind, it sounded like perfect reasoning!!! Is this how they explain all their other failed prophecies to naive dubs / newbies ???

As regards the support system - I have seen this at work, and participated in it, and can only say that I feel this has been a positive thing. The thinly veiled threat that this CO's wife made would be unthinkably distressing to anyone that's deeply entrenched in the JayWit world.

What a cruel, heartless bitch! Just makes me all the more determined to never let these people ruin / rule my life again!!

on a wondeful sunny sunday, a minister decided it was too nice to be stuck in church and do the service, so decided to go bear hunting instead.. whilst meandering around the mountain paths, suddenly he came face to face with a big brown grizzly.

as he stepped back to steady himself and take aim, he slipped on gravel, and proceeded to tumble down the mountainside, getting seperated from his trusty gun in the process.. when he finally stopped, he looked up to see the bear thundering towards him.

immediately, he drops to his knees and begins to pray "lord, thankyou for teaching me a valuable lesson, that i should never forsake my ministry.

He opens his eyes again to see the bear screech to a halt, only feet away from him. He stares at the bear, the Bear stares back, then drops to its knees and prays "For the food I am about to receive, may the Lord make me truly thankful. Amen"
