Corpus Linguistics - Text Analysis of All Watchtower Publications since 1800's
by objectivetruth ini've been working on a side project for a while.
the goal of the project is to create a comprehensive database of all publications throughout history.
with this database i will be able to instantly find trends in text,sentiment of writing, methods used, and scriptures emphasized.. essentially i will be able to put a word like "apostate" into my tool, and instantly receive a report showing every time the word (or similar words) has been used in all publications since 1870.. i will also be able to create reports showing word density used in publications over time.. so i'll be able to see that the word "governing body" has increased in usage 25% year over year since 1975.. or i will be able to analyze the november 2014 wt and run an algorithm that helps to determine, what the tone and motive of the writing is.. the thing that i am most excited about is the ability to instantly find every occurence of a scripture in every publication.. this will be a great tool to find flip flops in doctrine as well as inaccuracies in biblical interpretation.. i will for sure publish all interesting findings here.. .

Hours will be going up
by pbrow injust got done watching parts of the october episode at jdub.broadcasting and it looks like the definition of "sacred service" is getting an update.
construction work, helping out fellow dubs, even helping out non-beliebers and opposers will soon be adding up to record progress for publishers... gett ready for a huge increase in hours being reported.... can you hear it now??

The Witnesses Are Really Trying Hard To Get Me Back In
by minimus inat my mom's bed side all i see is either jw family or friends making a concerted effort to have me return to their fold.
evidentlyy, my mom has encouraged this and i'm a trapped prisoner, as they do their best to have me come back.
it's bad enough that i have to endure my mom's dying, now i have to be bombarded with this bs..

People could not count on the government to protect them. The cliché of the cowboy movies is that the nearest sheriff is 200 miles away, so you have to protect yourself with your six-shooter. When governments did arrive, people were reluctant to hand over their self-protection. And because the first government in America was a democracy, people were able to impose their wishes. In European countries, first the government disarmed the people and exerted its control many hundred years ago. Then the people democratized the government, but by then the government had already established control.

I am absolutely shocked by these numbers. 88% of Americans own a gun! WTF?!?!?!
Meanwhile in Canada:
A license is required to own or possess firearms. Federal government safety course required before applying for a license. Special license required to own pistols. Pistols may only be used for target shooting at a licensed range. Semi automatic firearms have size restricted magazines (rimfire rifles excluded) Automatic firearms not permitted. -

there is no way to accurately predict the fall-out, but it's potentially huge!

This project is being done in coordination with Paul. I just haven't worked more on it since a while now. But it is most definitely a goal. There are over 800 pages of information in jwfacts.
