I have to admit that I live in a regular neighborhood in a regular town, and haven't seen JW's in the 4 years I have lived here.

I had to laugh at this! I remember that while I was in they started coming up with new stratagies to find people at home. Go in the early morning, go in the evening, etc etc... most people came up with excuses galore to avoid those types of service, I never wanted to actually talk to anyone I PRAYED for Not at Homes!...

"This organization has no infrastructure!". They have no hospitals, no college, no formal charities to speak of, no school of theology, no day care, no weekend basketball,

Metatron is right this is why the Catholic's have survived and the JW's won't. Catholics went into goverment ASAP they became major employers and established a huge power base that has lasted for almost 2000 years! Its a lot harder to leave a religion that will not just shun you but you won't be able to go to the hospital or work or vote or live in peace (not to mention that could kill you as a heretic!) Jw's havent' established that kind of base so when things get hard they will fade away or break into a bajillion pieces!

i have a son aged 19. he's a bit of a handsome devil at the best of times and the young ladies have always been ... how can i put it nicely.... fond of him.

but having said that he's always very friendly with everyone.

we used to go to a congregation a few miles from where we live now when he was a tiny child and he was friendly with the kids there.

Well when I moved out I stayed a Dub. I was in for almost 10 years after I moved out, but moving out gave me the space to make my own decisions and mature in a way I never could have at home! I would say dont' push apostasy on her but do encourage her to move out and stand on her own.

Then give her CoC as a house warming gift! LOL!!!

The best advice is for her to move out. I moved out at 18, I moved 1000 miles from my parents it gave me a great sense of where I was and where I wanted to be...

Also if she chooses to not remain a dubber if she's 1000+ miles from home it's a lot easier to fade away and not cause as much friction!

If the WBTS morphs into a main stream religion which belifs will the keep?

i really don't thing the witlesses are going away.

too many people have invested too much time... i take that back i dont' think they are going away anytime soon... however if they plan to stick around they must change soon so what beliefs will be jettisoned this week as the light grows brighter and what beliefs will they keep (and why).

1st obviously is that the gb is only one step (small step) below god and at least equal if now one step above jesus.

Jesus is gods son (this one is supported fairly well by the scrips so that's an easy one to keep)

Jehovah is gods name (this is becoming more a mainstream belief so thats an easy one)

Earth will be a paridise and people will be resurected here... this is hard if they change their end times destruction message then when are people resurected? If they tell members you are going to die in this system how many will continue to serve? They may have to adjust that slightly...

I'll see if I can think of a few more!! Post away though!
