I volunteer at a homeless shelter. I live in a VERY republican area they outnumber democrats 3 to 1 yet at the shelter democrat volunteers outnumber republicans by about 10 to 1...

I've heard pretty compelling evidence that the verbiage in Daniel and some of the political references indicates it was written much later than it claims to be. Kind of like if you said "this is a letter written by George Washington" and the letter started "Hey hey bitches wazzup LMAO here in the state of Hawaii..."
Much like Daniel language evolves things change. Linguistic historians can look at the language and the verbiage and place things pretty well and my understanding is that Daniel is all wrong for the date it claims to be. One of the reasons the Jews have never really taken the book seriously.

I've got mixed feeling about this. I don't think they should pick out one or two religions to 'pick on' as it were. If you're going to tax religions you should tax all religions. I don't see the witnesses as potentially any more harmful than catholics and I see them as actually a lot LESS harmful than many sects within the muslim religion.
On the other hand I do like to see the witnesses get kicked in the balls...
