I wasn't in chat either (can't get it to work). I'm so sorry about your friend. Don't stress about what you said in chat, you just hang in there and know that you and your friend are in a lot of people's prayers right now!!

I need HELP!!!!!!!!!
by Samdownunder incan anyone relate and help with the nagging doubts that it really was the"truth" and we are all doing the wrong thing and being misled.
i have read a lot of information to sway me from the witnesses and to think it is only a man made religion, but still i fear i could be wrong and going against god.
how do you all deal with this feeling that surely most have experienced.

Time, for me, has made it easier. The further I get away from it all, the less doubt assuages me. You will eventually hardly think of it.

After leaving the jdubs, I began to celebrate all the holidays, but was kind of weirded out by Halloween. I got over it after carving my first pumpkin. I've got the most kick-ass pumpkins on the street now. I've done Ozzy and Yoda, to name a few! So much fun.

Would you attend your own DF'ing/DA announcement?
by unbeliever inmy friend was summoned to a jc.
she did not go and pretty much told the elders to kiss her ass.
she wants to attend the announcement which is tonight.

I did not attend when I was df'ed. I was thinking about that today oddly enough. I kind of wish I had come in earlier and chatted everybody up (I hadn't been to a meeting in a really long time) and then see their faces when it was announced. You know everybody holds their breath when, during the announcements, the announce that elder so and so has a special announcement. Everyone hangs on the edge of the seat waiting to see who's getting the axe. Just would have been interesting to see everyone's reaction.

When my husband were engaged (at 19 & 21), my husband went all the way to point of going to his vasectomy appt before chickening out. We were both pioneers and totally, completely convinced that we weren't going to raise children in "this system of things". Thank god he chickened b/c now we're getting ready to start a family! But that was the thinking in my congregation. A lot of couples in my cong had big fancy homes, made tons of money, drove nice cars, always on vacation or in designer clothes, but of course they had no material attatchments!
