I guess the only way I'll find out if I'm "no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses" is if I ever run into one of the JW's I used to associate with and they either talk to me or ignore me.
I dont really care.

the society's new book 'organized to do jehovah's will', to be released in the congregations .
on the 20th of march, introduces a change in the df and da announcements.
announcements will read the same: "[name of person] is no longer one of jehovah's .
I guess the only way I'll find out if I'm "no longer one of Jehovah's Witnesses" is if I ever run into one of the JW's I used to associate with and they either talk to me or ignore me.

take a look at this wt excerpt from another thread that i copied and pasted:.
*** g93 3/22 why so many false alarms?
jehovah?s witnesses, in their eagerness for jesus?
If we fully apply what was said in that article then all JW's have good reason to view what the WT says as skeptical and possibly not true dont you think? They basically admit that in some cases "words do not come true" in the WT.
But you will still get DF'd for thinking this and making those thoughts known.
As a person who never missed reading one single WT and Awake (better than a college education) for over 30 years, I find that I have learned more from this forum and the internet in general (the forbidden tree) about the WT organization. And what I have learned is the real truth because I have regained the ability to reason. It is like having the blinders taken off.

they can't report the donations to the IRS as income -- otherwise they'd lose their tax status and be viewed by the IRS as paid clergy
I recall an elders meeting after an assembly program way back when.........We were told that if we give money to a CO or DO and tell them ...."Here is a small gift to help you out.".......then they were obligated to count it as income.
But.........if we told them...."Do with this as you see fit.".....then for some reason that escapes me, It doesn't have to be reported. Does any ex elder here remember anything about this?

P.S. Back in the early 1980's we had a CO....Harry M. who encouraged us to deduct our expenses whether they be automobile expenses such as mileage, travel expenses for conventions, etc., because we were ministers and did this work as volunteers at our own expense. So for several years I made all of these deductions on my tax return.
i'm not vegetarian.
being italian and brought up on the mediterranian diet i tend to eat a lot of fruit, vegetables, cheese, pasta, rice and some meat.. i'm just curious to know who here is vegeterian and why?????.
cheers, bliss
I've tried the vegetarian route a few times and can't seem to stick with it. Maybe if I knew more about how to prepare different dishes I might have a better chance of it. I truely believe that a mostly or total veggie diet is the healthiest way to go.
I would really love to succeed at it. I have high blood pressure and could really stand to lose weight too! The Dean Ornish way of reversing heart disease is something that is based on fact.
Anyone got some suggestions how I can get started and succeed? I have a book called "The Gradual Vegetarian" but guess I really need motivation to stick to it.

i can't stand wearing suits for anything.
i wore them so much while i was a jw that i prefer to never wear another one as long as i live.
hell, i wore jeans at my wedding!.
No more suits for me. My idea of dressing up these days is a sport coat with a mock turtle shirt or sweater. No more ties!
My daily attire is jeans and sweatshirt in cold weather and jeans and t's or safari shirts in the summer.

new here, so, should i be crossing any lines, i ask your pardon.
recently i asked a question within another's post on the meaning of "junior, senior" statements/levels.
the response i received within that post( and thank you ) was that it had to do with the "number of posts" one has/had made.
nowino..............
Welcome to the board from a fellow Pennsylvanian.

whilst taking my morning shower, where i always seem to do my best thinking (please, no rude remarks concerning showering, thank you)...i got to thinking about my dad.
our family was raised jw's; except for my dad, who knew better!
he passed away about 20 years ago and today, whilst in my shower, (oh yeah, i said that already)...i thought how hard that must of been on him.
HadEnuf,
Thanks for that great post. I'm all choked up now and it isn't even 7AM here!
You brought back a lot of memories for me since that is basically how it was with my Dad too. I'm just glad that he and I got real close again the last few years of his life. Nothing will bring back the years we missed because of this DAMN religion.
I miss you dad. I love you. Be happy wherever you are.
Love,

after being in the org for 20 years, being regular at every meeting.
i must have sung the songs hundreds of times, but i cant sing the first line of any song off by heart..
i asked my husband, kids if they could, they also cant.. can you?.
BTW, did you know, the songs in the songbook were in Alphabetical order. The first word of the song is what they went by, not the titles.
"I didn't know that!"........as the one guy on Laugh In used to say.

straight away told im not ready for baptism, not with the amount and depth of questions, that ive been warned about these sites and that apostates will do anything to knock jws.
proving its the true religion bec the bible says it will happen (shows me scriptures).
also told it doesnt happen with any other religious group - usually people just quietly leave and make no fuss - further proof that ths is the true religion.. i asked about all the dates where predictions were made, eg 1914, 1975. was told there were some articles loosly talking the 'possibility' of something happening, but the wt never said it definitely would - how could it, these are just ordinary men, not profits.
Holly,
Now you are a first hand witness (no pun intended) as to how shallow JW friendship is. The one who studied with you is showing that unless you become a JW, true friendship is out of the question. Then again, true friendship is really doesn't exist in the WT org.
You stopped being "easy meat", is all. Your study leader, to maintain her delusion, has to consider you to be unworthy of her attention and run, run, run from your distressing questions as fast as she can.
......and you should run, run, run the other way also!
Jst2laws....
We as jws used to spew out those patent answers like robots but in our own heart we wondered, fearfully, if we weren't sticking our heads in the sand.
Wow.......I never thought of putting it that way, but it is so true. Even as an elder there were many, many times at the door, the householder (JW patented term) had a lot of Bible knowledge and caused me doubts...things I had no answer for.
Holly. Please stick around, ask questions, express yourself, and investigate, investigate, investigate all you can.
