there is apparently no chance at all of her ever recovering from her present state, but do you think she should live or die?

for myself, i think she's better off dead than living---no, existing---in her present state.

i for one, have instructed my family to let me die if something like this ever happened to me.

But here's the part that really bothers me: why is Congress getting involved?

Remember all the debate about assisted suicide and euthanasia in the Jack Kevorkian era?

Could it be......that the "powers that be" are looking for the loophole to legally have some sort of assisted suicide.......just short of euthanasia?

I think some conspiracy theory has solid ground. Even though I don't like......nor agree with it.

Moral to this story: If you get real sick.....just make sure all of your affairs are in order. My daughter has all of my wishes for life support removal in writing from an attorney.

I completely agree with the right to die with dignity. But starvation is such a horrible way to go. It's hard to think that there's no better way to handle the situation.

This is a hard thing to deal with......since I watched my own wife die a horrible death from ovarian cancer in 1996.

It was in that era that Dr. Jack Kevorkian was being arrested for assisting suicides and my wife said in her agony that she now understood why these people wanted his help to end it.

Life is precious and a gift from God (my belief), but I am totally for not being kept on life support if there is no chance of recovering.

But, isn't there some huge insurance policy that Terri Schiavo's husband will get also?

i just dont get how people can stay in a religion that constantly changes the "truth".

never mind the scandals, that is a seperate issue.

but the foundation of a religion is its doctrine, how can you believe an organiztion that constantly changes it.

Especially people like elders, bethelites etc, there is no way that the org can slip some big changes by them, how do you rationalize staying. it blows my mind.
elders/former elders, what do you think?

Let's add.......the lack of love......the two faced backstabbing..........no real friendship........etc.

I'm no longer an elder or a JW.

recently i got a really nice collection of 15 first edition hardbound serendipity childrens books by stephen cosgrove for $23.00.

absolutely mint condition, i was thrilled.. what bargains have you all gotten?

what treasures?.

I think E-bay charges about 65 cents for the insertion fee. The first picture is free and each additional pic is 25 cents. The charge a percentage of the final selling price. I think it is about 7.9 %.

I use PayPal and haven't been disapointed at all.

Even though I've dated my share of ladies, I miss my wife the most. She was the best......and could fix the worst curcumstances ever.

As of April 26, she will be gone 9 years.

God rest you my dearest Joyce..........You were and still are the greatest woman who ever walked

I love E-Bay............

Made over $1200.00 since January selling items.

Got over $300.00 for an old Bible Students book and over $100.00 for another book.

Sold most of my tools for a fantastic profit and have one item there now. I stated a minimum bid of $15.00 and hoped to get about $30.00 for it. Right now, the bid is up to $72.00 and still have 4 days to go.

I also got a brand new Total Gym for $300.00. On TV, you pay $1400.00 for it.

So yes...........my E-Bay experiences are very good.

Justice has been done.

Question for the old timers: Do you remember the special Service Meeting held sometime around 1973-74 to announce how close we were to the ?end of this system of things.? We invited as many new ones and interested ones to that meeting in order shake they up before it was too late. I had a part on that meeting, and still remember the frenzy of activity before 1975. Does anyone remember that Special Service Meeting?

I remember the meeting but not much detail. Even then, some of my dub peers weren't exactly 100% sure about 1975 but kept most comments to themselves. The old PO at that time was one of the best people I have ever known in or out of the organization and he always said that Jehovah would be the one to make the final decision....that we should wait until 1975 and to not jump the gun. I was there when he would butt heads with the CO's who tried to change things in our cong. He is one of the very few that I can still respect when I think back about my JW history.

Hmmmmmmm.......wonder what was going on in his mind? The old guy had a lot of insight, understanding and love for all. He was the.......what did they call it back in the early days?......."Congregation Overseer"?......until after the first year of the "NEW LIGHT" to have a rotating PO system. When that light burned out a couple years later...."NEW LIGHT" was installed and a permanent PO was made. What a mistake!
