up for auction is a hardbound edition of the "kingdom ministry school textbook" published by the watchtower bible and tract society, jehovah's witnesses, for use by elders only.
because this was used in the course of a school, it has much underlining and many marginal notations.
At the end of the section dealing with judicial matters, are handwritten the following comments: "6 expressions that should not be used
Of course! The society doesn't want anything to come back at them. Let the local BOE be sued for being tyrants all on their own.
I've got a new understanding of this scripture since being set free from the 'borg.
"Let them be. Blind guides is what they are. If then, a blind man guides a blind man, both will fall into a pit." Matthew 15:14 NWT

just recently, i've been taking hl's car down to the car wash and giving it "the works".. that's multi-coloured foam, wheel wash, hand wash, screen wash, under wash, under protection and finally, dry and then hot wax!
all for 6.80. whoo hoo!.
hmm..the hot wax certainly does make it gleam, i thought.
Years ago you never got out of your car to pump the fuel. An attendant would come out and do it for you. A shyster attendant took an opportunity at this time. He would ask how your oil was and you might say for them to check it. Many times they would say that it is a quart low. If you told him to put it in, he would do so. Or so you thought!
What he actually did was put the spout in an already empty can and would pocket the money.

vitta's thread above got me wondering.
how many here still believed the "witnesses" to have the truth until they came to sites like this?
how many actually came here to defend the jw's and ended up leaving?

what excuse could anyone possibly have as to why they're not attending the 2 hours + of boring bullshit partaking of spiritual food this morning??
as for me, i have a perfectly valid excuse: i'm doing laundry and baking banana bread this morning.
what are you doing sunday morning instead of being told you're not doing enough in god's service?
I don't believe this!
I was just getting the ingredients together to make banana bread too!
WITH CREAM CHEESE SPREAD ON IT.............YUMMEE!

it doesnt happen here so much but on other forums some have really annoying attachments.
why do you need to put a really stupid saying or comment after every post or (picture).
i find it really cringworthy and i get sick of trying to dicipher where the message ends and the inane comment start.

"A stitch in time saves nine". "What goes up gets shot with my skeet gun".
Ouch......vitty just hit me.
i just have to comment about the canned wtbts music on cd the local congregations play on $150 cd players through $20 speakers set in the foamboard ceilings at their sales meetings worship services.
what a joke the music is that they use to sing praises.
the lyrics remind me of a high school pep rally with all the emphasis on 'we're joe hoba's witnesses and yada-yada-yah preaching from door to door and from house to house' or 'life everlasting in the pair-o-dice' crap that just tickles the dubbies ears so much they get all pretty and pink.
Honesty,
The best Christian music I have heard was the Calvary Chapel Church in East Rochester, NY. If I lived in that area, that would be my church.
Here in the Pittsburgh area, the two churches with the best music ministry that I have attended are Orchard Hill Community Church and Allegheny Center Alliance Church.
The church I now attend has more traditional music, but the chorus and solo's are fantastic.
Compared to the droning kingdom melodies, it is like night and day.
For home listening, I love the WOW Worship CD's.

well, the elders were supposed to have met on monday, april 18 to decide if they would disfellowship me for adultery.
there is no question of my guilt.
not a hard decision.
Seeker4,
You said:
My debate with the elders is not whether I'm living with a woman, but whether they have any right to take action, as I'm not a Witness.
Does this mean that you were never baptised? If this is the case, they cannot DF an unbaptised person. From what I recolect as an ex elder, they can make the statement that you are not an approved associate.
Maybe someone else can give the exact criteria on this.

when is a personal choice not a personal choice?
when it's hobson's choice.. .
dictionary.com defines hobson's choice as this:.
New Worldly Translation,
You make a good statement here.
That's the trouble with making hard and fast rules is everyone has different circumstances and there'll be loopholes when the rule is analyzed. Instead of making things clearer it causes confusion and then people, yes even dubs, think it's a stupid rule and ignore it. I don't think the org. will ever learn though.
It makes me laugh when the org put all these rules in the WT or KM etc and then qualify it all by saying they are not being dogmatic and they are only suggestions. The mere fact it's in print in publications supposedly inspired by God's word that are meant to be guiding the congs means that they are being dogmatic. If they are only suggestions keep them to yourself or just tell your friends that it might be a good idea if we did this or that.
You should listen to Ed Dunlap's audio tape of his experience with the so called "Governing Body". He was the Gilead Registrar and was the author behind the book "Commentary On The Letter Of James".
http://www.jwinfoline.com/Page/audio.htm
Your statement is very close to how Ed felt. He was another victim of cult mentality and DF's for being true to his own conscience.
