Speaking to an Elder tomarrow, I'm almost free!!!!!!!

major developments in my world, just wanted to let you all know about it.

i'm meeting with the elder tomarrow afternoon.

i'm going to stick heavy to the watchtowers interpretation of matthew 24 and how it is unbalanced, sensationalized and out of touch with any historical evidence or respect for the bible.

years ago when i was attending my old kh there was an elder that was very stern.

bro glen(not his real name) used to be very firm in telling students about their talks not being good, or where they needed to improve.

i know i was "terrified" of bro glen.

Not an elder or ms but the "bro" who was interested in my wife when I came on the scene in 1968 wound up marrying a sister 10 years older than him. He moved to her congregation and within a couple of years the gossip was everywhere about him beating her. She had separated from him a few times but always went back. I'm sure the elders had a good hand in talking her into going back for the next round.

She finally divorced him and he was df'd for the compulsory 1 year.

I've been out for a few years now and it has to be a good 12-15 years since I heard anything about either of them.

Another case I was privy to when I was an elder was a family who started coming to the cong I was in (they resided in another cong territory about 10 miles away). Their reason for changing congs was that they were unhappy with the elders sticking their noses into the family business. Truth was........hubby was a wife beater. The wife in her early forty's at the time was very attractive and was working at a local K-Mart. Well......it seems hubby regularly went to the store to see what she was doing. (kind of sick......no?) She was working to help support the 5 kids he had the pleasure of knocking out for God's sake! Three of them were still home at that time.

Anyhow.......he had a problem with her smiling and being nice to the customers. He used the excuse that she was doing more than smiling at the male customers. That's what made him angry enough to beat her. She disapeared and he came crying to us that she left him. Truth is........she went to a shelter for abused women after he almost killed her with that latest beating. I'm glad I was not on the committee for that one because my fellow a$$hole elders tried their best to keep the couple together.

I don't know what happened to them because they changed congs once again after that last episode. And I resigned as an elder shortly after (for other issues). I'm sure my fellow elders were happy they left because now they didn't have to deal with the problem anymore.

Finally.......................my own experience...........Blondie said........

the elders tried to get the wives to take back their husbands. The wives divorced their husbands and lost any status they had in the congregation.

That's what happened to my daughter when she went to them about her worthless husband. They tried their best to talk her into staying with him even though she was the victim. They tried the game of......"just think what kind of impression this will make on Jehovah's name." "What will people think?"

I'm happy to say that she divorced him anyway and is now as happy as I am.....OUT OF THE BORG.

yes, a person should never be too proud to swallow his pride, apologize, and seek forgiveness.

I've been feeling down recently.......for no particular reason.........and after reading JW's topic..........................I am NOW so happy.........I could puke with a smile on my face.

A post like this is all I need to know that I have made the right choice and left an opressive organisation that can be called a cult or to lessen it a bit........a highly controlled religious group! I have a problem with calling the borg a religion though.

What knowledge is in you? The only thing you know is rote memory............the doctrine that has been told to you over and over and over and........well........you get the picture. Knowledge comes from STUDY of facts and relevant information. Not just information that came from Fred Franz or partially from the Judge.

Read my earlier posts and you will see that I'm not so stupid! I've stood before thousands and re-read the outline that was given to me. All I was allowed to do was insert my personality into it............not one single iota of my opinion though!

I still love you though. My mentality has been in the position that your mentality is in at the present. Stick around and really chew...........and then...........digest.......... what is said on this forum. REALLY think about the pain and heartache that has been thrust upon those who post here. Pain that should not eminate from a so-called "true religion"............put upon a child of God..........by a group that claims to be HIS only channel to mankind.

And last........I must add...................WHY ARE YOU HERE? There have been many such as you trying to do your best as an apologist on this and other boards where ex JW's frequent. Your type has no consern or care at all as to what has happened to the members of these forums at the hand of God's so-called "True People"

You are a selfish .......... UnChristian person. I see nothing Christlike in your posts. Perhaps you should start from the beginning..............learn about love..............the love that the Bible really teaches at the hand of Jesus Christ. But I doubt you will because Jesus is not as important as the governing body........right?

Ok........I'm done. My last words are to any and everyone reading this. I have disfellowshipped the governing body.........and as little as I know about real Christianity..........I choose to put Jesus Christ first.

Nothing wrong with reading it. It is a fascinating book and Dan Brown deserves all the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$ he gets for writing a best seller.

But believing it as gospel is another story.

Sure wish I could convince the reading public into giving me ten million in advance for something I could conjure up and write about it.........and have them believe it.

Judah Ben Schroeder NOT finishing law school

a few weeks ago there were a couple of threads about the wts and higher education, and some stated that judah ben schroeder (son of the late governing body member al schroeder) was attending law school at columbia university.

i got an e-mail from a very reliable source today about some inaccuracies in those threads.

I have no expectations other than it's fiction, and I'll let it go at that.

How right you are.

It is hard to understand how supposedly intelligent people want to believe that a book..........fiction at that..........should have such an impact on their lives. I guess the the perceived intellegence is not so great after all. But then again........intelligence has no connection with those who are truely educated.....and can think accordingly.

Bottom line.............$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

and many millions of it...........for those who are promoting this fiction in all the media forms available.

I'm sure many of the believers consider Alien Autopsy to be fact also.
