I never gave up my worldly friends. I just didn't talk about them. My worldly friends were better friends than any witnesses. When I left JWS I still had my real friends.

Did you have any "well kept secrets" that the congregation never knew of?
by JH inwhen you gather with the same people for decades, they get to know you inside out.
they know where you work, have a good idea how much money you earn, know if you have sex or not, know your personal tastes, know where you go on vacations and so on..... were there things you were able to keep them from knowing?.

Tithe - giving 10% to the church
by LouBelle inthis subject came up at work and has got me thinking, is this really a requirement that god enforces?
a lot of churches say it is a mandate of the bible?
does it make a difference to your spirituality if you give or not?

One time I gave my 10% to the church. It left me with very little in my bank acct. The next day a big gust of wind blew my door and broke the window. Plus my dog got sick.From then on I gave what I could. Jesus wouldn't of want me to stress over money. I give cheerfully from my heart. I like to put in a few dollars at stores when they are collecting for a cause. It helps someone and is not a burden on me.Now the mailmen will collect can food soon so I like to pick up some and put in mailbox. I feel good about it and its easy to do.Not a burden. Merry Christmas everyone

Its not that illegals are bad people. Its because they need to become legal because of terriorism. We need to know who is coming over the border to protect American citizens. Thats why we need passports now if we leave to go to Mexico or Canada. You can leave but you cannot get back in to the states without a passport. I also hope the man gets help to come in legally. Bless him for helping that boy

when 1975 didn't happen I thought I need a better job with a pension. I went to work at the phone co. The last time I stepped foot in a hall was when a sister asked me where I had been. I said I got a job at phone co.and as an operator had to work crazy hours. She said you can't do that and miss meetings. I said when the JWS help me to pay car ins. and put tires on my car and help me out they cannot tell me where to work. That was the last time and no one bothered me ever. I then had money to travel and visit my family on the east coast. I made many friends at work and life was great. I have been collecting my pension since 1991 and Social Security since 1992. I hate to think what I would have if I kept a low paying job. I had been making $2.50 an hr and started at phone co at $4.00 an hr. I thought I was rich and in 6 months received #1.16 raise. Plus I had medical ins. The biggest thing was I found the real truth and found Jesus Christ and have a personal relationship with him. Life was Beautiful Audrey

when you are talking with family it should never leave the house.
it should stay behind closed doors.

I don't believe Dog is racist. His Pastor is black and he has black friends. I think his frustration got to him. His son is on probation and Dog believed his girlfriend was encouraging him to break probation. Dog has expressed his remorse and is sorry he didn't keep control. I believe he's a good guy. All those toys were recalled from China because of lead paint. Dishes from China have lead paint . We got rid of all our cups and dishes from China. Now drinking coffee out of glass cups and like them a lot. They don't care if they poison all of us.

On the way back from the grocery store....afternoon chuckle!!
by sweetstuff inwe went shopping this afternoon, my two little girls and i, on the way home, they were both excitedly talking about halloween.
my youngest, who is seven, lets out this comment that nearly had me veering off the road with laughter.
she said, "i know what i want to be for halloween already, a jehovah's witness" well, i started to laugh right away, my eldest girl asked her why, she says, "they knock on people's door all the time and they are really scary".
