Most meaningful to me, from the standpoint of what might affect my family, would be 1: blood, 2: financial.
Me too..and in that order.
if i told you that something bigger is on the horizon than dateline, bbc, cbc, sunday (australia), and all other tv programs which exposed the sexual child abuse cover-up by watchtower in 2002-2003, would you believe me?
have i ever misled you?
i'll answer that--no!

I think I might have an idea, but I don't want to jinx it even though I think its already been hinted at. But only a couple of things could evoke more emotion and reaction than money and the misuse of it. I have my hopes on one of them.
As a general comment though, what most people cannot tolerate, is hypocrisy. Most JWs even if misguided can't stand it, and people who are not can't stand it either.

"have you ever wondered .
do jehovah's witnesses believe that they are the only ones who will be saved?
Yes.

on another thread a poster talked about getting beat over the head with a certain banner ad.
now everytime i come to the site i seem to be getting hit with this one:.
joseph smith .
Actually, I'm about as far away from organized religion as you can get...been burned enough for 2 lifetimes.
I just wonder about those who really do go for this stuff. I tolerate religion and use it as a study in human nature, but this kind of stuff....i just shake my head

Learn about the visit of Jesus Christ to ancient America.
www.josephsmith.com I won't even comment on what I think as I try to live and let live now, and at most just shake my head...but I have to ask rhetorically, is someone intentionally trying to make it hard for me to like religion? Axelspeed
there is an article featured on the watchtower official site about how christmas has lost christ.
what exactly is their problem with this?
they have been trying to tell people for years that jesus wasn't born at christmas time, and then they get upset when other people behave the same way.
I find it interesting that on one hand the WT finds it within itself to allow certain celebrations, such as those involving pinatas, because in their own words, they have lost religious significance and so are allowable.
But then in the next breath condemn other celebrations, i.e. Chrismas, because they arent religious enough.

if I was still a JW and found out about this, I really believe I would immediately walk away from the WT and never look back.
I'm looking forward to this...consider me teased!
I am reminded though:
“All forms of dedication, devotion loyalty and self-surrender are in essence a desperate clinging to something which might give worth and meaning to our futile, spoiled lives. Hence the embracing of a substitute will necessarily be passionate and extreme. We can have qualified confidence in ourselves, but the faith in our nation, religion, race or holy cause has to be extravagant and uncompromising. A substitute embraced in moderation cannot supplant and efface the self we want to forget. We cannot be sure that we have something worth living for unless we are ready to die for it. This readiness to die is evidence to ourselves and others that what we had to take as a substitute for an irrevocably missed or spoiled first choice is indeed the best there ever was.” - True Believer, Eric Hoffer
Yeah...Although I believe the WT is already imploding slowing, I still tragically remain a cynic as I lament over the more gullible aspects of human nature...but I hope whatever it is gets some of my family seeing (or admitting to) the light. I am eagerly awaiting the news though!

hi all, last time i posted this topic, it was copied from e-watchman's site, i cannot take credit for that article.
however, i have the jan 15 wt now, and here are the rest of the paragraphs.
1st study article.
"Jehovah the God of truth" blesses only his truthful Witnesses. The wicked have no right to represent him.
This seems to suggest that they believe there are some un-truthful witnesses lurking among the ranks, who have no business calling themselves JWs. ;)

ok i just finished watching antwone fisher.

i just returned home from the kingdom hall.
i am an elder.. after the meeting all the elders were called to the back room.
i thought this was an impromptu elders' meeting.
Thanks Blondie ...it has.
The other elder said that there was nothing more important than Jehovah and his organization and that this should be my first priority. I corrected him and said that my family was my first priority and he said no, Jehovah’s organization was my first priority. What?
With this statement, they are counting on your youth and compliant nature to guilt and bully you into staying in line. If there is any irony here, it is that I noticed a lot, and I mean a lot, of long time elders who were just willing to coast. Not having any other social circle, besides that of the "elders club", to go to and to hang out with...they just trudge along.
A lot are more than willing to hand the reins of privilege (work) to the young and the gung-ho. Many of the old timers have been there-done that, and secretly wish they could wiggle out of more of whats on their plate.
