I did a quiz recently, it told you what religion you were, by my answers it said I was Jewish.

The watchtower study articles always had the first one on the Jewish example, and the second on modern day "christians" So we unconciously, believed we were one of the same.

This was a real biggy for me when I started to read John, (without the watchtower) Jesus is our mediator

NOT an organization and when I read for myself in the watchtower that Jehovah was my "grandfather" that was it. I cant believe I was so blind and just excepted everything shame on me!!!!!

why were we subjected every year to the conventions drama with an american voice over.. could they not have had tapes with an english accent?.

i have nothing against the american accent, some are very pleasent .

Also in the Watchtower, that is even printed in England, we would have American phraseology eg Folks and persons, its PEOPLE for gods sake!

Spellings also eg gray and color, we spell them grey and colour.

It used to really make me snigger, when a brother use say Isaiah, the way he thought he should, the American way, then half way through his talk start saying it the CORRECT way

Now all you Americans dont take offence but what do you think??

now that we're out of the "cult", what's an "apostate" to do??

LIVE. I was in the supermarket today, and I just stopped and thought, god im ALIVE, now today , not tomorrow in the new system, but now, so I bought a big bar of choclate and a bottle of wine and im so happy!!!!!!!!!!!!!! no field sevice tomorrow, a lie in on Sunday, appreciating every minute with my husband, thats paradise.

And thats it do NOTHING unless you want to bliss!

Also as im in europe, I think you have to get the timing right. As sometimes the board is really quick

But I am still a newbie!!!!!!!!!!!!! Although I must thank everyone today for their kind replies to a more serious post. But if it just a silly one. Also I do tend to be the last one on some topics and I feel Ive killed it.

What is the true Christian religion / faith?

i,m going to cut to the chase here .i am not long viewing this website and am fascinated at much of what i have read.currently i attend meetings, but sit there and think of what i now know about the society and its past.i just feel so confused at the moment with religion.. its a bit like who shot jfk ,did man really land on the moon etc .. except it involves all of us( just wish i knew the truth).

the only thing that is keeping me there right now is that all my family are in the "truth" ,,and i cant just stay at home and be shunned which i have recently experienced ( was inactive for a while) .. if i knew beyond any shadow of a doubt that i have found the true faith and discern that it is definately the true faith, i would then make a stand and nothing would stop me .

already i am reading the scriptures without the aid of wt publications and what i am reading is amazing .i am starting to feel that i am now getting closer to god by simply doing this coupled with prayer.. there must be one true faith as there was in the first century.

How dare they!!! This really made me think, I hadnt really considered it before but when I started reading the bible WITHOUT the watchtower I read for myself that Jesus is the mediator for ALL men.

So no I dont think there is one true religion, Jesus was telling us over and over again that the unity would be our love for God and neighbour and that means everyone, not just someone who is in the same religion as us.

Its early days for me aswell 6 months!! Sometimes I do ask myself "what if im wrong and there right" but I just come on this site and my sanity returns Goodluck! ( thats the second time ive said that today)

i need advice.

my daughter is getting married next month, she has no idea of the extent of my husbands and my fading as she lives in another area.. the thing is she really loves this guy and will marry him come what may, but my husband thinks she should know about us before she gets married.

im worried her bf might say we cant go to the wedding or stop her seeing us after.. ive got a idea hes a bit of a hard liner, controlling!

It really was my husband who wanted to tell her, he thinks because she loves us she would never shun us. She wouldnt if she was on her own but when shes married she wont have that option, it really makes me sad, shes now in a postion of really being in control, something she hates.

But your all right, its too late to voice my concerns about the org.....The thing is I know she has concerns aswell but when your young and inlove that is all that matters, I just hope he is reasonable and loves her more than the org only then will they have a chance of being happy, in or out !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also I phone her nearly everyday making sure she can come to us with any worries, I have also told her even if its on the day and she changes her mind it will be fine with us. I suppose this is all I can do.

In my heart I know I cant spoil her day, its just sometimes I wake in the night sick to my heart knowing what I know, and leaving her in.

I just hope one day she never turns to me and asks why I never told her.

I think the problem is I dont trust her BF. If I was sure he was going to look after her, I would leave them to it. Hes already made a comment about headship!!!

If only I had known the truth about the truth last year, I know we would all be out, I would tell them all to -------! but know I have to start playing the game and I hate it.

If your going to use the knowledge book, theres a really good discussion about it on the www.jwinfoline.com Its an audio tape by macgregor ministries. It had a lot of information and really made me think when I was still in.
